First One - 16x28 Jeep Garage Build!

Finally finished some wiring on the south side of the garage, then tacked up OSB, primed/painted it, and rolled waterproofer on the stub wall. Now it's time to move everything over and do the other side....

Leasing a shop - good price?

Yeah, the price is about as good as it gets. The location is also something important, as this could easily turn into a business of sorts. And it's only 1.5 miles from our house.

Leasing a shop - good price?

Okay, I understand that construction, real estate, and leasing prices vary across the US, but bear with me. I am looking at a 30x80 shop to lease so I can work on multiple vehicles at once. The shop has 12' ceilings, a bathroom, ample electrical, and air compressor lines already plumbed into...

And here's my ATV winch anchored and ready to pull in dead vehicles. It has a 2500 lb rating, which is plenty for anything that will fit in the shop. (The winch on the left, NOT the right :)) I routed the controller module and plug under my workbench, to keep things clean.

Not exactly, but here's one with the Wrangler in the garage (door shut), and enough room to walk around the rear. Passenger side clearance is about 3 feet if I pull straight in. From the front of the Jeep to the wall is roughly 10 feet.

First One - 16x28 Jeep Garage Build!

Well I am taking the plunge on permanent power to the garage (finally). It will cost around $2k total, but that includes a power upgrade to our house (currently using a fuse panel - bumping up to 200A, also), and a full 100A service to the garage. I will have plenty of juice for heat, a/c, air...

First One - 16x28 Jeep Garage Build!

The Jeep sign is a generic sign I spotted at an implement store. Nothing really exciting with the garage now. I need to finish installing 120v ballasts in the rest of my ceiling lights. Then I will hang the lights and finish the ceiling insulation.

I was able to get four 2'x4' industrial fluorescent fixtures for free. I paid only for new 120v ballasts (originals were 270v).
