    Westinghouse 2YC Compressor Rebuild

Are you looking for a manual or Repair Parts List with diagram? I have a vintage Repair Parts List for the 2YC Air Compressor. A 5hp motor according to a 1951 literature I have is designated for the 3YC compressor. RPM for any motor would have to be calculated based of motor rpm and pulley...

    Monarch Vise #223

The steel inserts have a channel, not dovetailed. If you can salvage the screws, you'll be better off, they have a tapered head. Otherwise like myself you'll have to make them. Also, since the screw heads are tapered take great care when drilling out. Btw, were you able to source out the steel...

On that last print order I have two that I haven't mentioned. The second I'm still working on getting an acrylic template guide with alignment pins, however I'll get to that when complete. For the first one, I had a blank space left on the bottom right of the print that I wanted to fill in, but...

    Leland 3HP Motor Rebuild

Here's a short video of the electric hand truck in action. The Leland motor is on it's way out the basement shop upstairs for final destination. My son did the video recording. Enjoy-David http://vid585.photobucket.com/albums/ss292/temuba/Motor-Leland%203HP/Electric%20Hand%20Truck%202.mp4

I read the thread, thanks. Very interesting the ideas flying around in there. I believe one person answered it correctly as to how it's done. In my opinion a press, preferably mechanical or pneumatic, would have to stamp with grear force using reverse punches and a die. The die on the face of...

    Machine Name Plate Tag Reproduction

I have a older Whitney punch kit with all the punch and dies. I have done a one off this way with a dimple/center punch after measuring out the center to center mounting hole dimensions. Drilling using the template guide is tedious especially using a hand drill. I may pull out my vintage center...

For the previous Rockwell badge request, the purchaser also wanted a new ON/OFF tag for the toggle switch on the grinder. As you can see below the original switch tag was badly abused and most of the artwork barely visible. Even though I had the original tag, I was sent a scan of another one in...

    Machine Name Plate Tag Reproduction

To continue with idea of making template guides using the original badge as a master, I decided to do the same with a Rockwell grinder (Marathon motor) badge reproduction. Same procedure as before a new acrylic template guide is produce. This is only for one badge however I've labeled these...

Using my 12" slip roller, I rolled the badges to the proper diameter. I use one of the plastic bags that the printed sheets come in to protect the finish side of the badge from the metal rollers. With these badges it was requested not to punch the mounting holes.

The original punched numbers, I believe done with reverse number punches punched through the back to produce the raised look on the front. I'm pretty sure given the time and resources that can possibly be reproduced. However the major hurdle is the thickness of the new aluminum at .045". You...

    Leland 3HP Motor Rebuild

Thanks. Hopefully the motor should be out sometime this coming week. I'll get some shots of the setup getting it out the basement, upstairs and onto the truck. I'm no expert on motors. I know how to rebuild them, however somewhat limited to the electrical jargon side of it. Most of the work you...

Using double-sided tape I was able to stick the acrylic template guide to the roughly cut reproduced badge. Lower the trim bit and route out the shape exactly. Here's a scan of the original badge and the reproduction.

This bring this thread up to date and it's been a few weeks since I have done any work on the reproduction badges. Just finished a electric motor rebuild for another OWWM member. A circa 1950s Leland Larady 3hp capacitor motor, the link for that rebuild is listed at the end of this post along...

The next three Craftsman grinder badges are from older models. The first is a repeat from an earlier post, model 397.19580. The second one is a new one I reproduced from online images of many ones pieced together to get the proper proportions and layout. No original scan or badge for this one, a...
