I used Chevrolet Engine Orange. Nice match. I no longer have the can but it was a DupliColor brand maybe #1607. My local O'Reillys had 2 different shades of Chevy Engine Orange by DupliColor. I disassembled mine painted and reassembled. It was a lot of work but turned out nice. Good Luck07
I am located in the Northbay so same weather as OP.
I always use ACETONE just prior to paint. I keep the rattle can at least overnight in the house to keep it warm and shake it like I've got nothing else to do. In cold weather, the work warms up in the house as well.

I bought a 2 HP 22 gal USA built Sunburn 33 years ago and it is still running strong. It has not had the most diligent of maintenance. I think $300 is a price I would pay.
