Above 1200 Sq/FT The Salvage Garage

Don't often comment, but check in regularly. I have similar hoarding collecting interests albeit on a slightly smaller scale, Catching up on the last couple weeks worth of posts, wondering: did you make a deal for those huge PVC fittings you got at the auction? Given the retail costs they looked...

I believe they come from the factory set to recirculate (even when they are sold as vented), even if they have the vent options. It's usually 2 screws to remove the plate, rotate the motor 90*/180*, install Microwave. Probably have to use a new wall mount plate (included) and drill 2 new holes...

Just bought the dewalt xr oscillating tool. Good tool? Which blades should I buy?

Nice. Just keep in mind: the blades are consumables. They will reach a point where they are slowing you down (or deflecting/wandering during the cut) more than they are helping productivity-wise. Even though you are planning on just using this "at home" the quality of the blade will make all the...

Just bought the dewalt xr oscillating tool. Good tool? Which blades should I buy?

As a die-hard Fein fan, I never thought another oscillating tool could beat it. I grabbed the DeWalt one night when I knew both of my Feins had been left at the shop (50 miles away) and I needed to get an out of level sill (framing) trimmed for the granite guys that were showing up in the AM...

Famco Arbor Press #1, repurposed for what?

What a wonderful deal. As someone who is incapable of walking away from those kinds of deals, I am glad that it found a home with you.

Famco Arbor Press #1, repurposed for what?

Awesome selection of tooling with it. With all those options I'd be searching the shop for things to run through it. Looks like a nice piece of equipment that would be as functional today as the day it was made. I hope you got a screaming deal on it.

Above 1200 Sq/FT The Salvage Garage

I gotta say, I have lurked (and sporadically commented) in this thread for a long time, and until recently felt I there wasn't too much that you could bring home that would surprise me. I'm a sucker for broken mechanical stuff, cheap deals, DIY, and seemingly manic collecting and hoarding. But...

Above 1200 Sq/FT Out on Quaker Road

Thanks for the in-depth reply (no pun intended). I live in rural farm country in the northeast, and the countryside is sectioned off everywhere with frost heave/field stone walls outlining every field that was ever worked. PS: The camaro surprise must have been incredible. Please post drone...

I rarely comment, but I regularly follow your progress and growth (congrats on hammering through the house, btw) and celebrate with you on every new equipment acquisition. You are managing a heck of a grind, seemingly effortlessly. Slightly random question, but: As you have had it for at least...

Sounds like a screaming deal, I would have a hard time passing that up. That box looks virtually brand new, considering the environments it's designed for. WIN!

Ooooh. Ladder rack on that and I could haul pumpjacks and 24' picks and no one would bat an eye.

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Picked this up two years ago and have been meaning to post a pic here, and well, time flies, doesn’t it? This came from an online auction site that handles surplus from municipalities, schools, etc. the vibe came from a local(ish) highway department, and has a 1997 date code. It’s a Wilton 1765...

    Wilton 1765 tradesman bench vises

Happy to read this. I picked up a solid/working/complete 1997 vintage 1765 through a regional auction company that primarily handles municipal tools and equipment being retired. My winning bid of $60 brought it home, so this thread makes me happy.
