X2!!! I almost passed out from the noxious odors of the "primer". Surprisingly, my color coat was NOT nearly as noxious as the primer, and wasn't even the low VOC. Hmmmmm.

I fully believe unless your concrete is completely filth/oily/nasty, grinding is a complete and utter waste of time - and, expense!! I acid etched (and rinsed) mine with bonafide muriatic acid - twice. Then I applied the ArmorPoxy "primer" (holy hell does it stink too!!) and then applied...

Indeed! The primer odor is so caustic you'll die....same with the clear coat. Ironically, the color coat has virtually NO odor.

Call me a pragmatist, but having used and completed my floor with ArmorPoxy, I think a lot of suggestions by MFG's and others are simply CYA for legal reasons. All the obsession about "grinding" is borderline comical and mostly completely unnecessary!! Do a few washes with Muriatic...

Greetings Fellas! I put down my color coat (looks like "Ford" blue). this afternoon. With the help of my adult son, we coated the small side of my 3 car garage. Goes on nice and thick- levels nicely. My question is the curing time; with as thick as it goes on, I have to believe it's gonna take...

And..I was also told by your staff, that use of the primer, also substantially mitigates many of the issues brought up in this thread.

Getting closer to doing mine. Just did the 3rd round of muriatic acid ( for my application,application, I thinking grinding would have been I messy, time consuming over-kill. Plus, I'm using their primer to mitigate problems. Just have to fix some hairline cracks & it's ready for primer!

Well.... with it all said and done, I tracked down the problem....a shorted receptacle on the "gas light pole". Eliminated that circuit, all appears OK.

How? I'm talking an inch or two, not the tectonic shifting of the north American plate.

Well, I thought it was fixed...then after 3 hours, the breaker tripped again. Guess I will need to isolate the circuits in the junction box, and narrow down where the short is...

BTW, how deep? Logic would tell me that it doesn't have to be below a "frost-line" because it's not a foundation; that may have to contend with "heaving" - but.......I'm imagining there is another asinine code dealing with this too (?):shocking: :3gears:
