Thanks to those who have helped.
I know I am not a pro but I'm always willing to learn and do it correctly. I have learned so many things this way. With that said, I also know my limits.
I have since killed the 100amp breaker feeding to the garage until I can replace the SER cable as...
Thanks guys. Will address some of the concerns especially the SER cable.
No anchor bolts placed during pour?
We used red head wedge bolts. It's code and passed inspection
Did you epoxy in bolts after you set up the walls? What was your process there?
There was no need since we used the...
So I've started a build thread earlier this year and have kept it current with the progress and posting pictures. I recently did the wiring and didn't even to think to start a new thread here until someone mentioned something I did was not safe (run cat5 along with electrical wires). I have...
I ran 6 of them on a single 15 amp breaker so you are fine. Here's the math.
7 fixtures @ 4 bulbs = 28 bulbs. Each bulb is 32 watts. 28*32=896 watts. Amps formula: watts/volts=amps. 896/110=8.15 amps.
I put six of these in my 24x36 garage. A total of 24 48" T8 bulbs. I also went with 6500k (daylight) temp. I love 'em! Check my build thread for pictures...
Thanks for the info. I will setup wirelessly first and test it. If it is good enough, I will leave it. If not, I'll find a new way to run the cat5 cable.
Why won't it work? How is it not safe?
My current wireless is not reliable in the garage. I currently have a 2tb time capsule with integrated a/b/g/n. So if I try to do it wirelessly, that won't also be reliable. It will only be as good as the source.
Got the lights installed. A total of 64,800 lumen. This gives me 75 lumen / sqft. A total of 768 watts. Lights up the space nicely. Used six 8 footer (which has four 48" T8 bulbs).
Feed coming into the main panel.
Feed going to the sub panel.
Got the 100 amp sub panel up, got a four 20 amp circuits laid out, one circuit for each wall. Can you count how many double gang outlets? Yes, I went overboard.
