    Lubricating lift cables

I just got my two post lift installed and I lubed the cables with gear oil like the instruction manual recommended. The thing is that the smell of gear oil is guite intensive. Does it get better with time or is there anything else with less intensive smell that is good to use on the equalizer...

    3 phase motor connecting

I looked at the engine today again and it has cooling fins on the top. So I can see the rotation from there. The question is - which way it should turn? Looking from the topside where the cooling fins are - should it rotate clockwise of counterclockwise?

    3 phase motor connecting

The hydraulic pump motor of the bendpak two post lift is 3 phase. The engine is sealed so I can not see which way it is going to turn if I connect 3 wires to power line. Does it matter which way the motor is rotating or could I damage the engine if it does not rotate right direction.

    benpak hydraulic joint sealing

How hard is to machine a NPT thread ? I would let a metal worker to make me a suitable straight fitting but I am not sure if it is possible to machine with home equipment.

    benpak hydraulic joint sealing

I took a picture of that joint. I can turn it with a wrench more than half a turn from this point but then the resistance goes so strong that a wrench just keeps going over the holding edges. I hope the loctite will hold it in this position.

    benpak hydraulic joint sealing

I put some loctite on and turned into the required position. I hope the locktite seals it. This joint should be stright and there would be no problems with tightening.

    benpak hydraulic joint sealing

Hi What is your opinion how to seal hydraulic joints. Bendpak has pretaped them but everyone who sell hydraulic components say that tape is not ok and I should use some sort hydraulic locking sealant instead. The problem is with 2 L-shaped fittings that go to the bottom of the hydraulic...

    Wedge anchor depth in concrete

I got one out. I moved it up and down while rotating till the wedge and cone wore so much out that it came out. In the middle of this process I tried to pull it out many times using a nut and spacers but it did not move.

    Wedge anchor depth in concrete

Ok, I am going to try to get them out with the method shown in the videos. I found a metal worker who makes a special piece that screws both to the anchor and to the sds adaptor. I do not have a hydraulic puller but I think with a lot of rotating and shifting the bolt up and down with a drill I...

    Wedge anchor depth in concrete

https://www.wuerth.com/ The overall lenght is approximately 6 inches of those achors. I thought that I should leave more thread to protrude form the nut because of possible shimming and bendpak also has a hoist for adapters that is later installed under those nuts. I wanted the holes 4 inch...

    Wedge anchor depth in concrete

I have very thick pad so I can not drill through. What about those who have 4 inch thick pad that is sufficient according to bendpak. Do they need to drill through or is it possible to mount a wedge without drilling through. If not then their hole depth should be near what I have now. I can not...

    Wedge anchor depth in concrete

A lot. I wanted that there will be enough room if the column needs shimming or smth. I did not used the bolts that came with the lift. I bought a little longer bolts .

    Wedge anchor depth in concrete

Hi I started to install a bendpak two-post lift and I made a little mistake drilling holes for 2 wedge anchors. The depth had to be 4 inches in concrete but I did not consider the thickness of the base plate of the column correctly and the holes are now actually about 3.4 inch deep and I...

Initial barn overhaul turned to garage project

For an update I am going to post some pictures of my garage after the clutch and cambelt change on my citroen berlingo. I really need to install the two post lift as soon as possible although it was not so bad doing the job in the garage using blocks of wood to support the front end of the car.

Initial barn overhaul turned to garage project

A small update. I have finished the inside with tonque and groove. Now it is time for the main door and to bring in electricity. I initially wanted to make the door myself but then I thought about the weight of the carriage doors and I decided to go with the sectional garage door. Some pictures...
