    Vintage Reed Vises?

I just wanted to share a photo of the Reed 203 I rustored this week. Never found a date code, but I'm told that alot of the early vises didn't have one. It's got 4 mounting bolts without standoffs, and a single swivel lock. Single piece cast nut. Works like new, now. I've had it 20+ years.

    Mac MB 5100/5200 box combo

I Google searched Mac 5200 tool box and this thread came up. I see it's old, but I'll give it a shot. I just bought this same combo at auction. Nearly perfect shape but dirty. It's a 50th Anniversary model. I gave $325 for it, and I'm happy with it. I've got it all apart and cleaning it up now...

    Shelving ideas?

I'm looking for shelving ideas for the space above the windows. It's about 24" to the ceiling & I've got 28' to fill. I could possibly carry some of the weight from the rafter about 18" out from the wall, maybe with chains? Not wanting prefabbed. Hoping for a few pictures to stir up some ideas...

    What's the latest in radiant?

I built a shop a few years ago, there's a build thread on the forum, https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=305094 , but I've been busy ever since. It's about 1000sq/ft, with about 1000 feet of oxygen barrier PEX in the floor. 1 zone with 4 loops. Fully insulated, including the...

    Disconnect for compressor?

I just had a new Quincy compressor delivered and I'm planning my installation. There's an ON/OFF switch as part of the pressure switch, and it'll be on a breaker 30 feet away. I'm trying to decide if I should have a disconnect at the wall. All my electric is in 3/4" EMT. Waddaya think?

guidance & design help for floor heat please

If there's a Menards in your area, they have Nibco and Hydro panels on display. Plus most if not all of the parts. I think I'd just walk in there and take a picture.

guidance & design help for floor heat please

Did your tubing go in according a planned layout, or, as many do, did you just roll out a bunch of tubing? I worked with Nibco in laying out mine, and they'll also help you plan the rest of the system, except for the heat source. But they will tell you how many BTUs you'll need. Sent from my...

    In-floor temperature sensor.

I was hoping to see a pic of the sensor itself, and how it enters the floor. I didn't plan for that when I poured. Can I simply drill for it? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk

New to in-slab radiant heat, questions on operation & settings

Steve R, In your photo, that black wire running by the right side manifold up to the boiler. Is that your floor sensor? How does it enter into the floor? I didn't plan for that when I poured. Thanks. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk

    In-floor temperature sensor.

I'm looking for a pics and details of radiant in-floor temperature sensors. I'm trying to narrow down my choices of mini-boilers. Some require sensors & some don't. My 28x36ft garage has <1000ft of barrier Pex in a single zone with 4 loops. A really simple closed system. I worked with Nibco in...

    The Best Light Fixture Ever!

Yeah, I knew I was overdoing it, but I had just never done the math. Thanks. Now I know I can add a few here and there if I need. I learned alot from this thread. I know I didn't follow your recommendations on fixtures and tubes, but I'm very happy with the way it turned out. Plenty of light...

    The Best Light Fixture Ever!

I put all 24 fixtures (48 tubes), on one 20a breaker through 12g wire. So, 20A x 120V = 2400W 2400W / 15W per tube = 160 tubes. Is this math correct for my EIKO LED15WT8F/48/840K-G7D tubes? I never did the math. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk
