Lets see your Tool Carts/Service Carts

Lista Single Bay, small enough to hold common tools but strong enough to hold the front suspension and move around easily at the same time. Awesome Awesome box. They make them in my town so I helped load it right at the factory

Sears is considering selling the Craftsman brand

My first go to place was a Sears Hardware Store franchise near me until tonight. I was considering a Craftsman impulse buy and when I looked closer I noticed it was already seriously rusting. When I let the sales rep know he saw the rust and handed it to me like I wanted to buy it. I...

2 post lift-add drive on ramps?

zkdiesel, yes you would think. But the single bay is narrow so front lift arms are as close as possible and need to be fully collapsed. Then front lift points need to be centered and at furthest point forward the lift arms can reach (exactly right spot). Sometimes I need to roll car once or...

2 post lift-add drive on ramps?

YEAH! like that. thanks Sublimate! BTW on the engine drop, I lowered the car, unbolted engine in a homemade reinforced plywood cradle, then raised the car. opposite when i got it back in. I agree any weight shift on a lift is a very bad thing. thanks again for the Mohawk link! Sent from...

2 post lift-add drive on ramps?

I have a 2 post lift because I got a great deal on a used, older American made lift and it's great to do work on the car. I knew when I bought it I needed to drop the engine over the winter and I knew the inside width of the ramps of a 4 post would not fit. I also store the convertible over...

Post Pictures of any vehicles/tools/equipment or projects you worked on recently

Engine drop onto my ghetto engine stand to fix the air coming in (intake gaskets), air going out, air going back in again (turbocharger to intercooler). oil going in (from tank), going out (to oil separator) and going back in again (from external oil cooler) and hoses, springs, gaskets...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I like those hose reels. Been thinking of mounting my somewhat portable compressor because I'm out of floor space and this would be a great side benefit. Thanks for the inspiration!

    New shop build in MA..

SaabGuy, I have the same exact lift and am not too far away from you (near Framingham). Did you buy it from Glenn? When I bought it he had two of them, same color and I think you got the other one.

Anybody have an old "Forward Lift"?

I'm looking at a used Forward lift DP07A, 2 post, 7000 lbs. 220, one of the old ones made in USA and it is ALI certified. I am sure some will comment it is great and solid with a super crew on it, others that it wobbles with a VW bug on it, but what I really want to know are there any gotchas...
