Thanx for the feedback. I won't be able to cover the area with tile or similar as I will be welding and grinding in this area. I may just try it anyway and if it crumbles on the edges, I'll deal with that when it happens. I'll provide an update once I get it done.

I have an area of the barn, I am converting to a shop area. The concrete floor has a very rough broom finish. It is also not very level. I want to smooth it off for a project and fabrication area. Has anyone done a floor like this? shop area approx. 20*40. any help is greatly appreciated. Red
