Time for an update!
We have been on the road full time for 6 weeks now. The build ended up taking us 2.5 months total to complete. We spend $20,000 in material. Life on the road has been great! Most of our time thus far has been skiing but we are looking forward to warmer temps and less snow so...
Our next video is up covering some of the interior finish work. The house is pretty much done at this point and we are working on getting our digital content out. Here are a few shots of the kitchen for now. Thanks for watching! If you like what you see please subscribe to the YouTube channel!
We are finally wrapping up the insulation on this project. It was time consuming but we are very happy with the end product. We can run a little space heater in there right now and it cooks us out. It’s California... and we are sissy’s... But we have been comfortable down there the last week of...
Yes we saved the 2 largest cutouts! I’ve seen some cool awnings and shutters made out of the remnants. The biggest cutout (from the double door opening) is so heavy we had to use the tractor to move it 😳
Last week we got the windows in and the container painted! Cutting the openings was easy enough, just time consuming! The angle grinder was the perfect tool for the job. We then welded in 2x3 box tubing in for the window to mount to.
I let the guy at Home Depot talk me into a non-silicone...
This past weekend was spent getting the footings poured! We decided to wait and pour the footings after we took delivery of the container. This way we didn't have to hire a crane to set it on the piers (the back piers ended up somewhat high to achieve a level container). Riley spent most of the...
Ours is a one tripper, and I have heard of people acquiring the manifest from the trip to confirm contents were not hazardous. I believe certain counties even require said manifest.
At first we were planning on doing a spray foam insulation. However, then we came across the InSoFast system and are considering doing that instead. It is an injection molded, closed cell, insulation panel that has plastic studs built in. By doing it this way we also eliminate the thermal bridge...
Hah funny you say that. We were on an episode of First Time Flippers that just aired last week. You can watch it on Amazon Prime if you don't have cable. (We are the episode titled "What In Foundation".

I’d recommend watching the whole video if you are going to critique. Those are just used for storage and we had to move them out of the way before taking delivery of our container.
Our property has a 4bed/3bath main house that we currently live in. However, we Airbnb it out on weekends and stay in whatever house we are actively flipping. It's worked for awhile, but we would like something we can live in full time and the Airbnb income is way too good to turn down. We will...
