Apparently I joined GJ in 2010 - but have yet to make a post until today (tonight), so I'm well overdue to introduce myself. I've been a long time lurker on GJ while dreaming of one day having my own 'shed' to customise.

Even since twirling spanners in the family carport and spending buckets of time in workshops (my dad's a high-school tech teacher) I've aspired to have a decent garage/shed/workshop to call my own.

In our first home (circa 2009), we build a largish two car carport. Knowing it was a 'stepping stone' property, we didn't consider a garage.

We then moved to Sydney for longer than we originally antcipated and spent 8 years renting various expensive shoeboxes. The garage pictured below wasn't bad - until it rained heavily and would fill with 300mm (1 foot) of water.

As of the start of 2019, we eventually moved into our own family home in our hometown of Adelaide. While it didn't have the dream garage I always wanted, the location, house and surrounds ticked a lot of boxes. There was also a 3-4 car carport, so the 'daily drivers' have plenty of space away from where the tinkering will occur.

We spent the first half of 2019 doing a quick renovation (bathrooms, kitchens, polished concrete floors) before the arrival of our third child. Now that the dust has settled and we're back into a semblance of routine and sanity, I can eventually start work on the approx 35m² 2-car inline shed!

Welcome, better late than never.

That looks like a good defense against the Zombie Apocalypse. What's inside?

Yeah, it's pretty 'squat' looking. I'm hoping in time it will be one of those "Wow, didn't expect that inside" type situations, as it's pretty bleak from the exterior.

My wife actually gave it a partial lick of paint in 'Colorbond Monument' when she was spraying one of the existing fences, which slightly modernises it. Unfortunately, we ran out of paint halfway. :(

Inside is a MESS. When we moved in, this became the storage space while we figured out the house. Now, that the house is somewhat under control, I get to commence the tidy-up.

Cheers!

I'll wait till I've gotten a little further with my plans, and start a build thread in the correct sub-forum.
