Modifications to the HF 12 ton and 20 ton Shop Press

X2 on the bold. I was going to post this, but this is pretty much what I was going to say.

Can I ask a favour of someone? I have a coupon for the 20T Shop Press and plan on purchasing 1 next month in NH (save on the sales tax), but unsure of the packaging size. This will play into which vehicle we take (Pontiac Montana or my pick up). If you're in a store, could you see if there is...

What do you guys w/ the blasting cabinets do for replacement acetate? I recall we had them for the blasting cabinets we had @ work, but haven't been able to find them @ HF or know where to find them elsewhere.

I have used mine a few times since I got it a few years ago. Most recently a couple of days ago. It struggled w/ 18 gauge. I don't use it for anything 'close'. I'll lay out my part on the sheet & cut it out roughly w/ the nibbler. Cut to size w/ my band saw.

What is the thickness of the steel channel? How does the construction compare to an 'industrial' version?

Bought a 62454 benchtop sand blasting cabinet about a year ago. Right off the bat I replaced the 'bottom' screen w/ perforated sheet metal so that I could blast smaller sectioned pcs (visible in 2nd pic). Still w/o an interior light (like most industrial cabinets that I'd used over the years...

Last month I picked up the bench top blasting cabinet. After a bit of fiddling, it works well. PASS We found that the 1st nozzle was blocking the media's travel due to a shallow "countersink". Switched nozzles for 1 w/ a deeper countersink & all is good. Hooked up to my Shop-Vac & there is no...

Any other reviews on the 2.5 L ultrasonic cleaner?

X2 I haven't used mine a lot, but not to many brakes are available that say they'll bend 16 ga. Most say 22 is the limit for steel.

We've always used Bondhus brand allen keys. Wiha also makes allen keys & include 1 series that they call MagicRing. It has a small wire ring on the ball end that holds the socket screw on the ball before installation.

I borrowed a friend's Ultra Pro (sold by NAPA in Canada) pistol grip air shear today. It looks a lot like the HF #98580. Has anyone compared these 2 shears? The Ultra Pro cut 16 ga steel w/ no issues. Not sure what to go w/ an air shear or nibbler. Pros & cons of each?

The fact that you mention the Gingery lathe is an indication you've been doing some research. I'm not familiar w/ that lathe, but recognize the name from a couple of publications I buy. Some kind of collet holder or endmill holder would be a vast improvement over the drill chuck. I found this...

The steering arms have an angled surface, so w/o a vise or angle plate to mount the part at an angle while machining, I'm not sure if you could make them. Any drill press can be used to drill the holes. I'm not even sure how "rigid" a set up like that would be for milling. Are the endmills just...

I see there are some PASS reviews for the 40 lb blast cabinet, but can't find any for the smaller 30 lb cabinet (#42202) that sits on a bench. Does anyone have any experience w/ this item? http://www.harborfreight.com/abrasive-blast-cabinet-42202.html
