    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT 24x36 Garage Build

Also I've started the main winter project this year. Participation has been severely lacking in the class I built my autocross Miata for (SCCA Super Street Modified), and the rules leave some to be desired. So, I'm making it trackable while still being okay at autocross (it will end up being...

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT 24x36 Garage Build

Got the mini-split installed: It's a Senville Aura 18K BTU unit. Install was pretty straight forward, though a bit tedious. This one is precharged, but requires you draw a vacuum on the lines. I already had a vacuum pump from carbon fiber projects, so I only needed to buy an adapter and...

Finally have the lift permanently wired. First time working with conduit - very satisfying and quite happy with how it looks.

Lots happened this weekend - Champcar 12 Hour at Thompson, got a vise, prevented a house fire. Picked up a vise on the 25% off HF coupon this weekend: Both Miatas in. Then started installing canless LEDs in the ceiling of the bedrooms, because I am so sick of floor lamps. This of course...

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT 24x36 Garage Build

The drywall issues got fixed last week, and then I repainted those spots yesterday. I was also able to move my other Miata over here from my parents house, now that the interior work is all done. There's a good amount of space between them thankfully. The ChampCar Miata is in the...

Andddd we have a rear door. Drywall is (in theory) being fixed today. Remaining open items on the contractors end: - drywall fixes - hose bibb in the backyard (was where the stairs into the basement are now) - a load of gravel - install the walk door hardware - final inspection

Sure - are these helpful? Overall finish is really smooth and issue free. There are a couple spots near the front door where it got dinged when it was still not quite cured. And a couple of the corners of the relief cuts cracked.

Workbench mostly completed. The top is the cheapest 4x8 sheet good I could find (because there was no way I was paying $60+ dollars for something else), with 1/8" hardboard on top of it. Going to try double sided tape for attaching the hardboard to make it somewhat replaceable. I'll trim the...

That is frustrating. How much did they want for the extra track? I was told "$1300" which I immediately laughed at and said not a chance.

The story I have gotten, which doesn't really make sense to me, is that the ceiling is higher than originally planned (13'6" vs 12'6"), and the door track was not adjusted for that. Seems suspicious to me. I am going to let the front door screw up slide because like you said, I don't want this...

Okay, time for the shame pics of the door install. Contractor agreed that it is unacceptable, at least. And the rear door was ordered the wrong size, and is now delayed 3-5 weeks. This door guy can pound sand. 55" TV looks very small... Used the lift for the first time on Saturday...

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT 24x36 Garage Build

The front garage door got installed on Friday. Very displeased with the work on the inside. I'll skip the shame pics for now, but there's about 30 holes in the drywall as a result of whatever they did. The track is also about 2ft from the ceiling, which clearly violates my contract requirements...

I am also not sure why it was done that way. But, I believe it was framed last because of the windows that needed to come out, and the garage not being dried in at that point.

Lift installed! Blue tape marks the end of another Miata parked in front of it. Garage doors are being installed Friday, and the electrical will be done Saturday. Woohoo.

    Milwaukee Power Tools Deal Permathread

Interesting. I have 3 of them, and they're all great. Battery life is rather incredible. On a 5.0 they'll easily last all day on low, which moves a ton of air and is really quiet. They are definitely "personal" fans, though. I can see the air movement complaint if you're trying to use them at...
