    Roofing Question

No response from either one. I only noticed later when the chimney guy emailed me the pictures. As for the roofing company, the person inspected the area, which of course was my main concern, had to see this less than perfect workmanship, but he does work for the roofing and I cannot image...

    Roofing Question

I had a new roof and wood put on my house about seven years ago. Several weeks ago, we had a long driving rain storm that caused rain water to come into my house along the furnace chimney into the basement, completely skipping the first floor. In the basement, it was dripping about two inches...

    Painting Aluminum

The area to be painted are two sidelights one on each side of the main entrance door. Each sidelight is about 15 inches wide with a window, so the actual paintable surface is relativity small. Not sure if power coating is an option.

    Painting Aluminum

I see that Rustoleum makes an etching primer and an aluminum primer. So for me painting my aluminum white sidelight which one might be best to use? My plan is to sand, but not sure how close I will get to bare aluminum.

    Painting Aluminum

What is the normal process for this? My painting has been limited to wallboard and wood doors/trim.

    Painting Aluminum

Over the years, the aluminum sidelights on each side of my front door have faded. I would like paint them. Not exactly sure what the correct process is for the project. Years ago, I painted my aluminum mailbox using a spray can metal primer followed up with a white metal can spray paint...

    battery powered lawnmowers

My guess you are an unlucky Honda mower owner. It seems that most Honda owners get well past the seven years you got. My newest is six years old and the oldest is about 18 years old (neighbor gave it to me). So far other than new rear tires and one belt change on the older one, no other...

    Let's See Your Garage Dog

Well, the old gal crossed the Rainbow Bridge on Sunday morning (Mother’s Day). I knew the time was getting close, I asked the man above to give me a sign when it was truly the right time. I did not want to do anything prematurely, always hoping for a rally. I was in contact with my vet about...

    Garage Door Opener

After more research and looking at warranties (not sure how a warranty claim would really go)and the better belts available today may make it the way to go. My front runner, at the moment, is the Chamberlein. The rating reviews seem to be good with a few negative reviews thrown in, but that is...

    Garage Door Opener

Mainly an outside keypad. As for the one remote we did have, we believe one of our small children, at the time, threw it in the trash. The garage is my workshop and not used to park a car, so the missing remote was not too important. Also, the emergency reverse feature using the door attachment...

    Garage Door Opener

Looking to replace a 30+ Allister chain drive garage door opener. My thought is to stay with a chain drive system since in the 30 years we have not had an issue and not as expensive as a belt drive. Noise is not an issue. My garage has a single door that is 9’x6’. The reason for replacing the...

    New Flush Mount Lights Question

I ordered and received two different style flush mount (hallway) lights. Both came with warnings that these lights may not be used with pre 1985 house wiring. One would hope this would have been mentioned in the light description. My house was built in 1963. So I did a little research and the...

How many wires can be can be wire nutted in a single gang light switch box ?

Well, the guess would be a DIY job or the electrician was colored blind.

How many wires can be can be wire nutted in a single gang light switch box ?

If I saw this, my first thought would be “really” followed by, “where do I start?”
