    Mr heater issues. .

This past week, mine started to act up again due to wind from the SE. It was not happening as much as before I installed the end caps, but the burner would not stay lit for more than a minute and then would relight. I found a Reddit thread on this same issue. The suggested fix from the...

    Mr heater issues. .

Changing out vent termination options (wind problems) Read through the above link. I ended up adding some louvered end caps to the T-termination on the Mr. Heater vent kit. This allowed me to adjust how the wind was blowing into the T. This eliminated almost all of the wind problems I was...

Powering another house from my house with 50a interlock

So, I don’t know much about neutral/ground bonding panel to panel, but what would be the negative effects of this? It would only be used periodically when the power is out for a brief period. What are the hazards?

Powering another house from my house with 50a interlock

Was there a solution to the neutral bonding issue? I would like to provide power from my genset to my neighbor if possible.

    Big Max 80k refiring consistently.

I had the same problem. I cleaned the brand new flame sensor with scotch bright, and added a T style exhaust outlet and that has fixed the problem.

    GenerLink and NEC code?

I have a Generlink and have used it 3 times in the past week. I have had it for 15 years. Ontario Hydro recommends them. They are not cheap, but are more useful then a sub panel, as they energize the entire panel and allow you to decide what gets power. I run my whole house from a 8kw Generac...

First year with heat. Mr heater 50000 BTU cycle frequency?

I am at about the same latitude as you are, across Lake Huron in Ontario. My Mr heater 50000 cycles twice an hour in the dead of winter. My shop is 25 x 30 with an attic man cave. It costs about $3 a day to heat. $100/month seems reasonable, as a tank of gas in my truck is the same.

Changing out vent termination options (wind problems)

The vent caps fit inside of the tee, but will not go in all of the way because the tee has grills. I did not want to remove the grills from the tee, so I used some copper ground wire to fasten them to either side of the tee. If the grills in the tee were removed, I believe the caps would fit...

Changing out vent termination options (wind problems)

The vent caps I have came from amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B08B57PS1B/?tag=atomicindus04-20 I am in Canada, so yours are probably a lot cheaper. I have tried a 90 degree elbow as well as orienting the tee in a vertical position. Neither worked as well as the end caps.

Changing out vent termination options (wind problems)

I had the same problem that you are experiencing last year with a new 50,000 Big Maxx. I started a thread about it. I tried putting flaps on the termination tee, and that seemed to work well most of the time, as the side towards would be forced closed by the wind, and the other side was free to...

1 generator to power 2 houses?

It sounds like this may be a feasible solution instead of purchasing a separate system. Thanks for everyone's responses. I will contact the electrician that installed the standby generator to discuss this further with him.

1 generator to power 2 houses?

I have a question on whether a second house can be powered from a standby generator located at a house next door? My parents own the property next door and they have a Sommers/Briggs and Stratton 20KW natural gas generator. The generator is fully automatic. Assuming the total load is within...

Garage with room above under 20' tall

I was restricted to 6m or a little less than 20ft when I built my garage. I too wanted enough room for a lift as well as an attic room for "hanging out." The main floor is 9ft in height, and the attic is 7ft9" in height. What I came up with was to use scissor trusses over the garage bay where...

I am looking for some 4 post lift information.

Check the outside runway widths. The mirrors may fit, but the vehicle axle tire width may be the limiting factor.
