best way to keep rodents out of garage ?

I've heard all the folk remedies. Peppermint, irish spring soap, dryer sheets, etc. None of it worked. I finally bought an electric rat trap. Within the first few days I had killed 5 or so rats. Haven't seen any evidence of their return.

my rain barrel water set up , part 1

Looks good! Wish we got enough rain here to justify this kind of investment for my garage. However, given the extreme amount of sunlight here, I think solar would be a prudent idea. Rock on!

Craftsman Microtork 3/8 drive torque wrench.

Brand new, never been opened, used, banged around, or dropped. Received as a Christmas gift, however I already have a 3/8 with the same torque range. By the time i got around to returning it, it was too late and they wouldn't accept it. Retail new for around 70, will let it go for 55 shipped.

Lets see those computer set ups in your garage

I use my iPad, that way if I need to I can move it with me if I need to constantly reference something. I also put a sheet of saran wrap on the screen, as to protect it from my often greasy mitts. EDIT- I also do the saran wrap when I'm using my iPad as a reference while working in the kitchen...

Awesome project, clean execution. Thankfully the air here is as dry as it gets so moisture has never been an issue.

    Let's See Your Garage Dog

This is Kevin. Found her on the streets, judging from her health and appearance she had been homeless for a long amount of time. She's great though.

    Question about oxy/acytelene torch...

I inherited a set of torches that hadn't been used in well over a decade, and the tanks were practically empty. Local welding supply exchanged them no questions asked.

    Teaching My Kids

Some of my best memories from childhood are from when I was helping my dad out in the shop. I was constantly asking "what does this do?", "why does X do Y?", "how do you do this?", and not once did he ever lose his patience. He was a finish carpenter and did a lot of work from our home shop, and...
