Bitchin ride!!!! I have a 65 F250 I'm hopi g to have on the road by fall. Total survivor. Faded, rusty and rough, but it's pretty solid except for the floor boards from sitting in a field for 15 yrs. All original too.

Good call. I always spend 10 min or so getting my rythem back on scrap before any important project. Don't get as much torch time as I would like and get rusty quickly.

Thanks for the advice. It's a new radiator, still in the box, so I figured it might be the same as regular thin aluminum but wanted to check. Thanks again.

Any tips on welding fittings onto rad tanks? I have a new rad that is from a race car that used a filler neck on the block and doesn't have one one the tank. I want to retrofit it to use in my 65 F250. I can buy the necks, but I have never tigged on a rad before. Just like other thin aluminum...

You could also use Loctite retaining compound. It's not a mechanical retention, but that stuff takes a lot of heat to break the bond. Just throwing out ideas...

He has access now and a whole shop full of tools, but at ten, he has only taken an interest in the mill. I think the sparks from the mig scare him a bit and the tig is too boring for a wound up little kid. [emoji1]

    Eastwood tube bender fail

I priced it locally and finally went through amazon. If I remember right it was around 100 cheaper with free shipping. On a side note. I also figured out if you use one of the quick connect dies and only pump the handle a time or two, it makes a nice hose barb type end similar to those used on...

    Eastwood tube bender fail

I was in the fence about buying one of those. I wanted more portability so I went with the Mastercool Universal. I love it. Just finished new lines on my 65 F250 and I can finish a flare in less than a minute, even under the truck. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00063YR2I/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Can't wait until my little guy is able to do stuff like that for me.

Just subscribed to this thread and thought I should contribute. I am reorganizing my garage/shop and decided to move all of the chip, spark and dust making things away from the engine building, wrenching area of the shop. That required a welding bench since I shared a metal bench with both...

In floor heat, anyone run a filter?

I've had my system for about 3 years now and have had a few minor issues with it, nothing major. Totally happy with the system, but I have a question. Is anyone running a coolant filter on their system? Mine is a closed system running glycol, so it's not exposed to any outside source of...

    Retrofoam ???

Great... so now what do those of us who have it need to condemn our houses or what? If it's bad for the environment, ok, fine I can deal with that, it's already done, but if it can cause harm to my family, I am concerned. Anyone know anything about this?

    Radiant manifold question.

You are right. I'm just the type to think this way and not look at it in the same light you did. It just seems that everytime I turn around it's another $3-400 or so. Well, that and the wife is threatening to start Ebaying my motorcycles if I spend much more. LOL

    My dream becomes a reality

Well, lets just say that I plan on living here for the next 15-20 years. Once that's out of the way, meaning when the little one goes to college, we may move and I may do it over again, but who knows. I won't be able to add onto this one without a zoning variance, I barely got this one built. ;)
