My friend just got his first first place, he needs his first tools.

Here's what I'd think the minimum starter set would look like for starter homeowner: 6' ladder (often on sale at home depot, etc.) 2' level with ruler markings, plastic (same) budget 1/4" socket set (like the $10 kobalt set) philips and flat screwdriver small set (HF(the decent ones, not the...

Would/do you trust a HF torque wrench?

good info :) I think a lot of people think a low price means too good to be true, so it's nice that you have some actual calibration history to share. I will say that I've had good luck with mine, and I encourage many diy people I know to buy one for lugs, etc., if they have no torque...

looks like the 12 point wrenches are the same price now.

    Why aren't ratcheting wrenches 6pt?

I've often wondered this too. maybe they want to reinforce the "precision tool" aspect and not tempt you to break bolts with them.

    I hate gearwrench

is there a torque limit that constitutes a "frozen fastener?" I understand common sense, which I believe many in this thread are trying to inject, but I think that a wrench's length should be indicative of its strength. if the mechanism in these wrenches isn't strong enough to hold up to 60...

    Large Overhead Storage Shelf

I'm considering doing 20' of this at 4' tall on my garage's back wall, and would be interested in seeing your pictures, and your thoughts on this build.

Garage Heater Exhaust - Through the wall or roof?

sorry to bump this ancient thread, but I'm having the exact same debate currently. installation instructions say that a through wall installation should extend 18" past the wall, which is brick in my case, and on the front of my house. does anyone have any pictures of a wall vent through...
