    Thoughts on a used Bendpak

Where are you buying your lift from? I'm in Vancouver too and looked at the same used lift you did. I was also told the lift was a few months old at which point I walked.

    Redneck Urinal Plumbing

Google "waterless urinal". The use a special cartridge that uses a specific fluid that has a different density than urine. It allows the urine to pass through and then creates an odour seal once you're done. Just don't pour coffee or pop etc down them. I first saw them in some local pubs and...

Ideas for old metal roof on shed

Thanks for the reply. Fortunately I'm on the west coast where snow is minimal but rain is plenty. I'll consider the wire wheel approach. I'm twice the age you were when you did it but my roof is half the size so it should all work out in the end

Ideas for old metal roof on shed

Looking at the photo, do you think the condition and age of the roof warrants the cost of replacement? This is the only metal roof I have experience with and I'm not sure how many years one could expect a metal roof to last before the crows start falling through.

Ideas for old metal roof on shed

Thank you for the replies. Did you use the Vicwest product on home or outbuilding? I've never noticed condensation before but then again I've never really looked for it. That was my plan until I looked into the condition of the roof. The membrane coatings aren't cheap (1500 to 2k for single...

Ideas for old metal roof on shed

Hello, I have an old 24' x 40' shed that is somewhere between 40 and 50 years old. It has the original roof that has held up reasonably well over the years. About 20 years ago my bad replaced all the screws with new ones as the washers had disintegrated and around that time he put a roof coating...

    Sealing around deck screws

Thank you everyone for the suggestions so far. Kd3pc, the contractors are not taking any responsibility for this and I've given up hope of getting them to come back on site. When you say to properly "bed" the anchors, what exactly does that entail? I was thinking of following Jess'...

    Sealing around deck screws

My parents have a deck with a garage space under it at the back of their house. This deck was built over 25 years ago and uses a couple inches of concrete as the deck surface. The way the deck was built, water has always made it's way down into the wood frame that supports the deck. So much so...

    New slab cracking concerns

Does the crack in your apron line up with the crack through the rest of the slab? And were the apron and slab poured on different days? If so, I find that strange and want to draw attention to that before people chime in.

Old Paint - use or lose?

I once had 1.5 gallons of Benjamin Moore interior flat latex that had sat for 5 years in my dark storage room. I opened the half gallon and gave it a really good stir. It went on fine and as far as my eye could tell, it was a perfect colour match with the full gallon I also opened and stirred...

    security camera systems

I Googled them and see some pretty good reviews. Can you explain some of the advantages of the Sharx setup vs multi-cam NVR package system? Or maybe just some more details about what you liked about their setup. Their website doesn't have very much info. Thank you.

    Liquid for tractor tires

I think 3 lbs per gallon is all you need. You can probably get 4 lbs to per gallon to dissolve. Anything more and I find it hard to get it to dissolve completely. A neighbor of mine has started using RV antifreeze and water. It's non-toxic and easy to work with but you don't get the extra weight.
