Don't take it, it might be legit or you might lose the money after couple weeks. If the guy fund his paypal account with a credit card, he could do a charge back and paypal will say you owe them the whole amount. Not worth it. Paypal will not protect you. Only take cash on Craigslist.

For the most part if your item doesn't sell within a week, it overpriced or a rare/not so common item.
