    Wiring 6-50 receptacle

Thanks. I guess I’ll be good if someday I need to convert to a 14-50 receptacle on any of them..

    Wiring 6-50 receptacle

Ok just need a quick double check as I’m installing several 6-50r receptacles in my shop. Wire I’m using is 8/3 with ground. So it has 3 - 8 gauge wires, w r b. And then a 12 ga bare ground. Most receptacles are fed from sub panels where the ground n neutral are not bonded together (they...

    Daisy chaining 220 welding outlets

Ok lots of good ideas. I think I got my question answered that the double lugging in the outlet is pretty bad form. I may consider split bolt splices for a couple. Thanks guys.

    Daisy chaining 220 welding outlets

Ok so my goal is to try and minimize my use of extension cords by adding more 220 outlets. My walls are pretty long 60-70ft and with wire running over a buck a foot I’m thinking of putting more than one outlet per circuit. I’m using 8ga and it seams like these Leviton outlets easily accommodate...

Manifolds for floor heating with pex tubing?

If you don't want to sub zone any areas and want to just run it all at once with one set of manifolds I would recommend going with 5/8 tubing which can go to 400-450ft on the loops and run a 9 port manifold.

    NextGen Boiler

My cost of electricity puts 100000 BTUs at about $3. Last propane fill I paid 1.76 a gallon with tax and delivery. I own my tank. That puts my cost off 100000 BTUs via propane at $2. So it’s like 2/3 the cost here. The big difference on price for me was owning the tank. If I was bound to a...

    NextGen Boiler

If you guys are comparing cost of electric to propane, NG etc. I found this helpful. http://chestergas.com/CostComparison In my area with electricity at 11 Cents kWh and propane around 1.50/gal. Made it a no brainer to go with propane. I bit of a investment in tank and plumbing but will pay...

What dehumidifier for a 35x40 3 car open garage

Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B081RG8JYR/?tag=atomicindus08-20 I have a 70 pint that does good, most you can pipe a hose to them and run it outside so you don’t have to dump the catch container all the time. If you need something short term maybe rent? Otherwise 40-70 pint is...

New metal roof, wet spots on insulation.

I would get it warm in there and run a dehumidifier. A good one that has a bucket you empty the water out of. Mine can pull a gallon or two of water a day in mount space. That should dry your building out on the inside. Then make sure the insulation is all up against your new roofing so it...

picts of your in-floor heat set ups.

I think it varies a lot based on climate, size of building and of course insulation. One tool for tracking cost I would recommend is the EKM flow meter. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00998ULE4/?tag=atomicindus08-20 I put it inside my shop and allows me to take a daily reading and I can track...

You would waste a fair amount. You can research snow melt systems. I think you would want to put that on it’s own manifold and sub zone it.

    Light Fixture Layout Collections

I think you will like the 110s, they are nice fixtures. The hykolites off Amazon are pretty much identical, but when I bought the volume from bees with the discount they were only a couple bux different. The divas have like 4 rows more spaced out of leds where the hykolites are like 2 rows a...

    Light Fixture Layout Collections

Going back a ways here, my original posts are back on page 20. My construction ended up taking way longer than I thought but I did use the layout platonic worked up and went with the LEDs and so glad I did. No warm up is awesome. It took 32 fixtures. These are the linear high bays from bees...

Ya I would recommend blue ridge, I copied a lot of what a guy down in Silverdale did who has a 50x60 with radiant. We have the Same boiler, same pex dia, same builder(permabilt) etc. Blue ridge is on vashon island. You talk to real people when you call which is nice. They will do the loop cad...
