    Tools from the old world

The Megaleaf looks nice. Good price too. What i like about the classic line is the old fashioned look and feel. The spades are thick, stiff steel with riveted ash shafts. They feel like they will last forever. Most garden tools seams to have steel shafts and quite thin blades - Fiskars or...

    Tools from the old world

I´m afraid not. I have been looking in danish garden shops, and Zinck-Lysbro has not been marked "made in Denmark" for many years. It´s "made in EU". Looking into Fiskars (who owns Zinck-Lysbro) annual reports gave me no further information. But a link from a google-search gave some insight: A...

    Tools from the old world

 May i ask what the price was? Very nice finish, looks like they forge the coarse form, and then cnc-machine the round slots. China ? ...But it´s still a Fluke  - The standard. Even the standard test cords are better than any other make!

Except for the tools, my guess would be that the Argentines are more slim than the Germans ... (not to offend any of our german friends here - the danes are even more bulky than the germans). Some of my Belzer and Sandvik-Belzers. The Sandvik-Belzer is a different pattern than the (older)...

    Tools from the old world

:eyecrazy: ;) Ahhh... it was like reading after welding galvanized steel  +1 to this! I have a few 1952s, normally i don´t fancy the glossy stuff, but the Belzers are just soooo nice! Long time since my last posting, work, homework (or should i say projects in my home), family and dog...

    Chainsaw oil/gas mix question

:headscrat Hmmm... Marine oil is definately not the same as normal 2-stroke oil. 2-stroke outboards, with their watercooling to "cold" water (not re-circulating like in a car) work at much lower temperatures than chainsaws, trimmers etc. I wouldn´t use it, neither would i ever pour "normal"...

    Bahco, Whats the real story??

 +1 to this. Bahco hacksaws / wood saws are great, and some of the few Bahco things still "made in Sweden". This is from the "tools from the old world" thread: Originally Posted by Lasu "Guys,when/why Bahco stopped making adjustable wrenches in Sweden? They suddenly disappeared from...

    1st welds

Sounds great. You can learn a lot in 2 hours. You´re lucky on your side of the pond, to have this opportunity. My impression on this great forum is that it´s more normal to do more things, like car repairs, woodworking, welding etc. on an amateur- or part-time basis in the US, than here in...

    1st welds

I can read that you´ve contacted Hobart and they will send you an exchange. But: The way i have learned to set the regulator: First turn flow all down (contra-clockwise on my Migatronic regulator). Then open the valve on the bottle. Then set flow on regulator. As I remember, there was even a...

Yes, my fault not using the correct name, combination square. I took a glance on the Fischer square, but they doesn´t look the same. I took another glance at the Fisco website, and measuring tapes seems to be the only branch left. It´s hard to make a real test, since I don´t have access to...

    Tools from the old world

The seller had "Made in the UK" as a promise, but not stated anywhere on the carton. From the degree of grease absorbed by the back of the paperbacking, i think it could be NOS some years old.:dunno: The stainless steel ruler has no COO stamped, but has both metric and imperial measures. The...

    Tools from the old world

You´re welcome, Monte. Just added a picture above of the near finished project. Subject right now is to find 2 meters of the right type foot panel (profiled wood). I think they used at least 10 types of wooden panels, when they build this house. No standards back in 1928 :dunno:. Another project...

    Tools from the old world

Long time since my last posting here...my garage is cold, and i´ve got no way to heat it. So not so many new, NOS or old tools from the old world. All the local fleamarkets closed for season too...:dunno: I have really enjoyed all your tools here. But this came from ebay (uk): NOS Fisco...

 Yes, lovely **** file. Gotta love that name  Very good kitchen knives too. Btw. The "Pferd" file brand is a part of the **** group. Same same. And, AFAIK, most Bahco files are made in Portugal at the former Öberg plant (Öberg was originally a swedish company).

    Show your oiler cans

Some of my..oiling gear: This small oil can is from KABI. Made in Denmark. I keep it filled with ATF oil, my daily "universal oiler"...http://www.kabi.dk. Btw. i think that 2oolhounds #8 could be a KABI - i have a quite similar looking KABI laying around somewhere. Dont know if they were ever...
