Hi All, I have a bench top Atlas 9325 which is making a fair amount of noise in the quill area when running (motor is dead silent). When off I really can't feel any lateral movement when I try to wiggle it holding the chuck, so I guess I'll need to take it apart, clean and potentially go ahead...

The threads on the Companion shaft look closer (more per inch) (39 in the 1 5/8” exposed) than what’s on the 80 (33 in the 1 5/8”).

I got this Companion back together to test before I put more into it. It runs fine and the shaft seems to run straight but the chuck itself has wobble. How can I remove this chuck from the threaded shaft without damaging other things?

I have two and love them! Portable, very sturdy and the adjustable height is great. Some folks use a cheap power drill instead of the crank. As at least a temporary storage solution I used upside down wire shelving stapled to an old length of oak hardwood flooring. One running end to end...

I too am excited about Frank's testing and have been watching it closely. I'll be curious to see if cutting it shorter then reshaping the end loop works (plus how to do it). I'm afraid of drilling any new holes in any part of the machine as I'm not really handy so might damage it permanently.
