Looking for quill bearing information for Atlas 9325

Hi All, I have a bench top Atlas 9325 which is making a fair amount of noise in the quill area when running (motor is dead silent). When off I really can't feel any lateral movement when I try to wiggle it holding the chuck, so I guess I'll need to take it apart, clean and potentially go ahead...

FrankLee you made my day today!!! The drill chuck came today and not only does it fit, it is in beautiful condition, thank you! The little Companion DP isn't in as nice of condition as the chuck, but I'm more about being able to use it. Doing little happy dances. Thank you so much again...

So, does the 31090 version of this Jacobs Chuck look like 1/2-24 for my Companion drill? http://www.jacobschuck.com/thread-mount/28.html

Re: The Classic Craftsman 100/150 Drill Press Thanks FrankLee and Cruzan80, I've started scouring FB Marketplace looking at old braces. Most around here seem to have only two jaws but there is a Stanley ratcheting one which might be promising. Cruzan80 let me know if you have the chuck (and...

The threads on the Companion shaft look closer (more per inch) (39 in the 1 5/8” exposed) than what’s on the 80 (33 in the 1 5/8”).

Thanks, it’s off. It wasn’t on very deep. When I try this chuck on my 80, it screws right on. When I cleaned the threads on the Companion and tried putting it or another 1/2-20 chuck on it, it stuck at about 1/4” on. I didn’t want to force them further. Do you know if the Companion...

I got this Companion back together to test before I put more into it. It runs fine and the shaft seems to run straight but the chuck itself has wobble. How can I remove this chuck from the threaded shaft without damaging other things?

    Store Bought Outfeed Table

I have two and love them! Portable, very sturdy and the adjustable height is great. Some folks use a cheap power drill instead of the crank. As at least a temporary storage solution I used upside down wire shelving stapled to an old length of oak hardwood flooring. One running end to end...

11b30b4 I'm glad the spring works for you. Any tips on how you modified and installed the spring?

I too am excited about Frank's testing and have been watching it closely. I'll be curious to see if cutting it shorter then reshaping the end loop works (plus how to do it). I'm afraid of drilling any new holes in any part of the machine as I'm not really handy so might damage it permanently.

Re: Custom Drill Press Lamp Thank you for the design and detailed tutorial on the lamp, it's a nice, clean, simple design that I'll be able to use! Plus my husband was duly impressed with the cutaway!

Regarding the McMaster Carr springs. I just received a pack of the springs Frank and 11b30b4: If you haven't already ordered some let me know and I'll send you one to try out. Mine is still so much apart that it will be a while till I can try it.

Would the following McMaster Carr spring work for the 150 DP return spring? It seems close to the specs I can find: https://www.mcmaster.com/9654K327/?SrchEntryWebPart_InpBox=spring
