The IR he asked about SS5L5 is on sale right now at Home Depot. About 10% off, $1394. Also they send me coupons for another 10% off if I use my HD card. $1250 is a good price. Can take the savings to buy the oil, filters startup kit and extend warranty another year.
That said there are...
I tore into it, removed the burner pipe's 4 screws and slid the gas valve back then took out the 2 screws at top, 2 screws at bottom and the 2 screws on the side. The whole burner box slid out. I had read earlier where the sides and all need to be removed so I was taking the exterior front and...
Hello,
I have a 15 or so year old MHU45 Big Maxx. First issue with it since I converted it from LP to NG 4 years ago. The system starts fine, induction fan comes on, I can hear the gas valve open/close 3 times I can faintly smell gas then it times out and flashes 2 times. My question is...
Sometimes they are a **** on you because they think you should have hired a union brother to do the work. But here they are working for the gov....Go Figure. Fortunately the few I have come across are nice.
Thanks for the answers.
I am going to change these boxes, I was worried I would have to put a plate behind every box because it didn't maintain the 1 1/4" but since the boxes are listed and made to have romex in the back, so be it...The 1 1/4" applies only to wood holes or notches.
And I will...
Not sure about the drilling part, that's why I am asking. But if your box is tight for space because you used all the openings you might get dinged. Can only have so many conductors in a box depending the size of conductors and the size of the box.
My thought is that half the blue plastic boxes out there have knockouts with no restraint on them. You tap the blue tab out and shove your wire in. You restrain the romex on the stud with a staple (within 12" of the box). So what is the difference between the knockout tab and a hole I drilled...
Hi All,
Does NEC allow you to make your own holes in plastic gang boxes? I bought some deep boxes and the knockout in the back puts the conductor too close to the backside wall. So I drilled a 5/8" hole in the top of the box.
I could use the break away tab in the back but thought it would be...
Actually the plywood I have is leftover from a utility trailer decking job. Is brown pressure treated. But I also always have treated 2x's around too.
Thanks.
Installing a subpanel in my basement on a concrete wall. Be right next to my existing panel. Mostly for basement use but will run some to new detached garage. Is there a certain size for the plywood to be? How much needs to stick above/below the panel to secure conductors? I may run my three...
I called the RobertShaw company and found the valve spring kit. The orifices were easy to find but each is at different online vendors.
The heater is 9 years old. It was not used for the last 3 winters as I moved (took it with me) and haven't set it up yet in my new garage. It was used in a...
Utility ran a natural gas line down my street this spring. I am excited to get hooked up but need to convert my LP appliances.
In garage #2 I have a Mr Heater 45,000 (MHU45) with the older RobertShaw 2000DER valve. The Mr Heater part I need 60066 is no longer available. I can find the...
