    The Best Light Fixture Ever!

Platonic Solid - I've been fortunate to this point not make a stupid mistake and shock myself. I think I'll just stick to what I've prepared. I'm about to wire a 220V 20 amp double pole breaker for a mini split - wish me luck.

    The Best Light Fixture Ever!

Half of the shop is for woodworking and the rest for occasional use. Using two circuits allows me to burn half the juice. Of course I'll turn them all on occasionally to immerse myself in the light. I was wrestling with lighting options that I could flush mount when I found your thread. Thank...

    The Best Light Fixture Ever!

I made two orders from ShineRetrofits for the Maxlite fixtures. Talked to the sales guy and negotiated a price of $18 per light for 13. They are mounted flush to the ten foot OSB ceiling. They matched the price again yesterday for another 13 lights to finish my 21x36 shop. I have the 13...

    The Best Light Fixture Ever!

I just ordered 12 Maxlite LSS2XT8USE4803 fixtures and 24 Greentek Energy Systems GT-T8-18W1200 BIXX (they call them VersaT8), but the correct model number is listed on the page. Is there any reason that I should NOT bypass the electronic ballast? Seems like a waste of energy to keep the...

    Terminating Underground Romex

White. Looks like regular 12g Romex house wiring. I guess I'll get under the house and pull the wire back... assuming a can find it.

    Terminating Underground Romex

I had an electrical company unhook a 60 AMP panel in my now demolished barn. They coiled the cable and installed a temporary weatherproof panel on a mount. Now comes the issue... Thinking all power was disconnected I proceeded to take out receptacles and switches and got shocked. Nothing...

    Lets see your workbench

Thx. They start out as 2x6's... planned they look like 2x4's. I periodically finished with Watco Danish Oil. Veritas has good bench hardware.

    Lets see your workbench

John in OH - What material did you use for the top? 2x6 southern pine glued up in four sections then combined. Leveled the top pass-by-pass with a router mounted in a jig that glides on boards clamped to the sides. The southern pine, although a soft wood at first, has hardened significantly...

    Lets see your workbench

BlueBomber - What is that waist-shaped vertical piece in the middle of the bench for? It's a sliding deadman (sometimes called a board jack) for supporting long boards. It moves along the entire front of the bench.

My woodworking bench. Made from southern pine bought at Lowe's and HD (depending on who had the best stock at the time). After I cut them the boards would warp/twist overnight. Weighs about 500 lbs.
