Cleanup on aisle 5 - (Lincoln welder)

Nice score. Just run the leads out the front about six inches and put camlock connectors on them.

    drill press column

Is the holder unbolted from the base? If so. that may be all you can do. When I talked to a tech at Jet about removing the post from the base, he said the post was pressed in and I probably could not get it apart. Pictures would help. YMMV.

    Had to resurface my workbench.....

If you need to do another one, cut open a plastic trash bag to line the pan with. Nice job on the skillet!

    Lighting and CLF

Just bumping this to the top because of all the threads about lighting right now. This method is more labor intensive but much cheaper than other fixtures if you have to buy. I found GJ while looking for ideas for garage lighting, and this is the method I used, and only used 100 watt...

Salt kills weeds better than Round-up (any downside???)

Go to a feed store (if there is one around) and buy a bag of granulated livestock salt. Last I bought in the spring was $4.50 for 50 pounds. I use it for weed control and in the five gallon ice cream/margarita churn. And for any "woody" brush like poison ivy , oak, or even grapevine or...

    Best Garage Broom/Mop

Go to a janitorial supply and get a large dust mop, five or six feet in length. A bit expensive up front but worth the money. Makes clean up faster and easier.

    Lathe Safety

Ditto all said here, but I believe Jimmy Fallon's injury was a ring "avulsion", which as said is stripping all the meat and skin right off the bone. Just for this reason, my wedding ring is in my wife's jewelry box because I work on machinery all day long.

Rigid Foam or No behind MDO Walls

OP said in first post he lives in Portland, Oregon. I know, it's not in his profile. Whatever! To the OP... nice shop! Keep us updated. Thanks.

Delta Rockwell Jointer and Drill Press

Bought one just like that about 30 years ago and still use it several times a week (or more). Only things I have done are replace the chuck (20 years ago) and install a link belt a couple of years ago to get rid of a belt "thump".
