Use a weatherproof horizontal outlet cover in a vertical placement?

I ended up using a box similar to what was previously mentioned which sticks out from the wall. My wife doesnt like it but I will hide it under her potting table.

Or add a white screw/handle to it. Not a bad idea at all, thanks.

Use a weatherproof horizontal outlet cover in a vertical placement?

I wonder if the horizontal style would be ok because nothing can run down onto the cover from above due to its being inset. I probably shouldnt chance it though.

Yes it is and I agree with you. Unfortunately I didnt install the siding and didnt realize how big of a pita this was going to be.

Use a weatherproof horizontal outlet cover in a vertical placement?

I wouldnt be able to get my fingers under the bottom edge since it is inset in the wall. The box I have to install it into is 3"x5" and is inset about 1/2". The only one I found is this one but I havent found it instore or online.

Use a weatherproof horizontal outlet cover in a vertical placement?

Thats what I figured. I have vertically mounted inset boxes that arent playing well with vertical covers (there is barely enough room to get fingers in to access the outlets on the vertical covers I have found.

Is it ok to use a cover that is marked as Horizontal like this one http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000U3G2UE/?tag=atomicindus08-20 in a vertical placement?

Insulating Attic Ladders? Anyone something they like?

Home Depot has what looks like an insulated bag especially made for attic stairs. Its what I am using. I basically stuffed the ends that go around the ladder between the attic insulation and the stair frame.

Anybody purchase from Barker Cabinets for kitchen cabinets?

Ok, thanks. I think I am 2 years into the addition and just have the kitchen to finish. At this point it is cabinets, countertop, finish the plumbing and get propane run for the cooktop and Im done. Then I get to rip the old kitchen out, redo the hardwoods in the old partof the house, 7 new...

Cant fit new joists for sistering

Well I am essentially finished. The two with minor cracking both have 2x8's covering at least 3 feet on either side of the ends of the cracks held in place with construction adhesive and lots of 3.5" nails. The worst of the three that had cracks running all the way through it has a 12 foot 2x8...
