    Dusty drywall

I always vacuum fresh drywall with a floor attachment. Pulls all the dust out of the pinholes that invariably get packed full when sanding. Usually find lots of spots that need a touch up after the sanding dust is vacuumed away. sam

New House: Would You Insulate Foundation?

All this advise and not one person mentioned the freeze thaw aspect in your foundation. In a cold climate it will make a huge difference to the overall heating of your building to insulate your basement. Insulate on the inside and your foundation will be subject to freeze thaw cycles which will...

    Another A.C not blowing cold

Probably just a poor crimp that caused the burn. Your gonna have to replace that contactor and all the burnt wiring. Sometimes there is enough wire to cut back and recrimp. And ya that's probably why your ac is not blowing cold, my bet is that contactor is feeding the compressor. sam

    Armorclad thoughts...

Finally found some time to move the grindrite, tool boxes and beer fridge back into the shop. Had to go down to Sandpoint Idaho for boys soccer tournament this weekend. Weather was nice compared to the cold snap we've had here! Lots of fresh snow on the mountains when we got home. Top coat...

    Armorclad thoughts...

I left the epoxy to set for about 30hrs before the top coat. It might have been set up enough to walk on earlier but I was watching the carnage. I don't know about armorpoxy but the epoxy I use for building skis needs to cure for a week after a good hour at 160f. It looks and feels solid but is...

    Armorclad thoughts...

Just went out to drop the doors down, I had them up about 2" to get some air movement, and there are 4 big millipedes about 3-4" long wondering around in there. Obviously they don't have a sense of smell, or maybe they like the smell? Just weird. sam

    Armorclad thoughts...

Just got in the house from rolling out the military grade topcoat and thought I'd share the experience. I took advantage of free primer for beige armorclad. Wasn't sure I wanted beige but couldn't resist the bargain. I wanted something light to help keep it brighter. Called and ordered up a...

Brand reps: sell me your epoxy floor solution! (Canada/Canadian)

I just bought Armor-clad for my 600sqft shop. Hoping to get it on the floor next week so can't tell you how it stands up. I had mine shipped to a shipping outlet in Eureka MT and went down and picked it up. Busy day at the border crossing so after the standard "any tobacco, alcohol, or...

    Why no rockwool insulation?

I did Roxul in my shop. As a demonstration to my buddies I put the propane torch to it until it glowed red. It left a slight mark in the batt. Then I put the torch to a batt of fiberglass it burned clean thru and we all had to vacate the shop from the fumes. It's heavy and dense. It cuts easily...

Can this be done? Low voltage question... (12 volt DC)

5 pin relay... Fused cab switched power to #30, B/U light circuit through 85-86 to ground, 87 to lights, 87A to switch at rear to lights. Put an indicator light (led) on the main power wire in the cab after the switch if you're worried about forgetting they are on. Only one relay! sam

    Wiring On/Off switch for 220v 5hp Compressor

Something like this should work for you. http://www.alliedelec.com/square-d-8910dp41v02/70060195/ You'd still need a disconnect on your 240 input, but would be able to turn your compressor on and off with a common wall switch. oop's just saw the one in my link is only 30A sam

snap on hard handles for roto heads

I put an Orange screwdriver handle on my old comfort grip. I could never find that black and red handle when I put it down on an engine. Had to drill it out a bit then hammered it on. That ratchet finally wore out and got replaced, so now I have a comfort grip again. :-( Sorry can't help with...

Reznor heater is so loud it's waking the dead

Ya, my buddy bought his after hearing how quiet mine was. His was crazy loud, rattling. It was the coil support. I think he gave it a bit of a bend and now it's quiet. A bead of high temp silicone would probably work. sam
