Been there, done that with the unbacked rug turning into an old sack slide. We have these under our big dining room rug and they work great. Dog still folds it up when she goes barreling in and does a 180 while playing catch, but great for foot traffic safety.

Not sure if you're looking for recommendations, but I have a IE intake w/o a lid on my Golf Sportwagen (2.0L and IS20 swapped). I love the induction noise. Haven't had any problems with it.

Those lathe and mill should serve you well. My friend had the same or nearly the same models back shortly after we graduated high school that he put in his parents basement. For a minute I was wondering if those were his since they're in NE Ohio. We made a lot of paintball gun parts on those...

I have a bit of a dark but true story on this one. I had a friend who got sucked into a sandpaper rolling machine that was rolling 4 grit. Found out later that his employer had disabled all the emergency shutoffs because they didn't work right and he didn't want to pay to fix them. Anyways, he...

Making my 70 El Camino a show car

Elco looks beautiful. Is the current plan to enjoy it now and circle around to doing the bed later?

How would you build a 40x64x16 garage in New England?

Not sure if you're familiar with the Build Show Network and there builders, but that have a lot of in depth videos on the individual Youtube Channels. I know Matt Rissinger and Jake Bruton both have videos going over ways builders trim and flash with exterior insulation on the build sites. Steve...

    Mark's Monster Garage....3800 sq ft

Hey Mark, are you going to have any of the vehicles up at Good Guy Nationals this year? I know the Corvette isn't done but curious if the van might come back out or if I'd get to see the Lincoln in person.

How would you build a 40x64x16 garage in New England?

I somewhat assumed that was the case with machines and/or tool boxes under the mezzanine. Consider putting a wall on the shop side of the stairs if you were to move it there so it would just be a bump out along the back wall. Whichever you choose, if you're planning to keep the air compressor at...

How would you build a 40x64x16 garage in New England?

Question on the mezzanine. Is there a reason you decided to run the stairs out into the main shop vs tucking them under the attic stairs? You wouldn't loose any useful mezzanine space, they'd be easy to access from the man door, and it wouldn't protrude out into the vehicle area. I'm guessing it...

I think the other portion is the film type. 4k doesn't add any sustenance in a comedy or plot driven low action movie, but 4k adds so much in an action movies with intricate fight/chase scenes and special effects.

From someone who used to remove a lot of mill scale on the mill, my best piece of advice is avoid low entry angles if entering on the mill scale surface like when facing. Don't do full width as the rubbing and crushing is when the scale does the most damage. Light depth with a 50-70% stepover...

Above 1200 Sq/FT building my BIG PARTY garage

I figured as much, but never hurts to ask. Your builds are such a combination of meticulously planned designs and off the cuff "that looks right" I'm never quite sure which is which. Beautiful job and keep up the nice work.

Don, I don't know if I've ever seen a wood bed on an El Camino. I think it would look good on its own, but not sure if it would really tie in with the rest of the paint and chrome heavy build. The black bed liner doesn't really either though. Maybe if there were some matching wood trim pieces in...

With plastic pegs, I've found that scraping with a razor blade normally gives you a lot of control and a good finished product. Don't try to cut/trim as it'll dig in. Doable, but harder to control in most plastics. Hold blade perpendicular or even at a negative angle and drag the blade across...

I think black spray foam with barn wood will look great. I'm not always a fan of gray with wood/aged metal as they can sometimes clash depending on how dark it is and whether its a warm/cool gray. If you're looking for aging process for galvanized panels, there was a good write up somewhere in...
