    1/4"-drive metric bi-hex (12-point) shallow sockets. Ko-ken, Snap-on, Stahlwille, … ?

Re: 1/4"-drive metric bi-hex (12-point) shallow sockets. Ko-ken, Snap-on, Stahlwille, Great thread. I have 12 point in Snap On and Blue Point. I have the 1/4 Zeal six point, and I mention this that I agree in general that the wall is thinner on the Snappies. The comment on SO slipperiness is...

Looking for a 3/8 Ratchet in a 1/4 Ratchet body

Lord Diesel's original thread is one of my all time favorites. Damn fine thread!

    What's Brake Cleaner?

TCE. Used to think nothing of it. Now I don't like using Acetone. Older and slower I guess.

    Flashlights

If I was looking to light up a work area from distance I would buy a Streamlight Stinger. The newer series. Ultra- Stinger I think. For your pen light option? There are so many good choices these days that you might consider it an ongoing exploration. You might find common ground with your...

Pliers to make home wiring easier

The needle nose listed by Witthay might just be the best set of pliers that Klein makes. Especially on smaller wire diameters. I use them too. Here is my suggestion: do not buy cheap electrical tape.

Just bought a new Tatical Pen - check this thing out.

I use those too in a Zebra mod. They work in a wet workplace and work well. I have known quite a few Lineman, and none that I remember shopped at Sharper Image. Hah! I must admit though, "tactical" is a good conversation starter.

    Buying a used bucket truck

Interesting topic. You might luck into a good deal. There are auctions where the dealers go if you have the cash. Nationwide comes to mind. You can sometimes score one with the larger Onan and a compressor with built in dryer. I second the Altec or Versalift pick. Ebay has some good deals...

Right way to make a Y with stranded wire?

Interesting. What connectors have you been using? Edit: NVM. I take it u referring to two wires into an opening designed for one. Yeah I hear you. I have done it and will again.....depending on the application. But not even approaching a load factor or application that concerns. I...

Right way to make a Y with stranded wire?

I like the 3way crimps from Ancor. They are not inline, but I work around it. Amazon has them. IMO...in general vibration applications......crimp over solder.

    Buying tools based on warranty

I had a guy working for me that when I asked his opinion on his generator he replied: "I had it five years and never done a thing to it." I replied something like....yeah? Oil only huh? "No....nothing." Honda generators. Gotta love it. My point is it wasnt about the warranty, but about what...

Homeowner + Car Builder - Complete Socket Set Opinions

Flame on. My experience was this: older Craftsman users will not find the same experience when repacing lost/misplaced items. It is what it is. Flame off.
