    4 post lift install

As long as they did electric inspection and the circuit your lift will be on is part of the build I don’t see why it would be an issue. Strongly recommend spending the $600 for the installer to,pick up and install, that is a bargain. Just make sure the installer you’re using has solid reviews...

    Stripping steel door jamb/frame

Was considering rattle can matte poly but afraid it may yellow over time and don’t want to strip it off down the road. Big fan of the hinges as well. Problem is after 90 years and heavy use on bathroom entry doors the pins wear a bit and cause issues with alignment……and my stock of used ones is...

    Stripping steel door jamb/frame

The door frames/jambs have always been painted until I recently stripped off all the paint. They will not be repainted and will remain as pictured above. Just want to avoid any possibility of any rust forming due to inside apartment humidity. Is there a wipe on product that will help prevent any...

    Stripping steel door jamb/frame

Sorry for confusion. I have stripped off all paint and now it is down to the original steel. This is the look I want to maintain but am concerned since It is now bare steel it may oxidize from the normal humidity inside the apartment during summer months. Thinking maybe a wipe on wax or...

    Stripping steel door jamb/frame

Removing 90 years of paint from steel jambs, front entry door and steel radiator covers throughout apartment. Intend to leave as raw steel but want to ensure no oxidation, especially bathroom doorways. Hoping to avoid any spray on applications, maybe a wipe/rub on application of something clear...

Did I get a junk 4 post car lift?

When I bought my Bendpak 4 post HD-9 about 5 years ago I had a choice of going with standard 110 or 220. I went with 220 as it lifts a bit faster than 110. Regarding the rust noted in your pictures, like others have said it shouldn’t get any worse while in your garage. But yeah, it ***** that it...

Brakes caliper bolts, and anti seize

Kroil is the best, hands down. Living in the northeast I use it on all my vehicles. Get on the mailing list of Kano Labs as they run a sale each year and notify you by mail. Picked up two 22oz spray cans for just about $20 shipped to my front door. That amount usually lasts me about a year as I...

    Bendpak HD-9

I purchased an HD-9 several months ago. Install through the distributor I purchased it from was $800. The installer also picked up the lift from delivery location. I also purchased rolling jack RJ45 that was installed at the same time. I had initial problems as the hydraulic ram was leaking 2...

    Plywood walls question and opinions

I've got 12' walls and went with 1/2" ply from floor to ceiling. Like Kaizen said, great to be able to hang almost anything from any location without much worry. If cost is an issue maybe use ply on the lower 8' and rock the upper 6' if you don't foresee hanging/mounting stuff above the 8'...
