    Lakefront race shop

Just picked up another boat a couple months ago. 1974 Catalina 22. The previous owner couldn't figure out how the mast worked so he cut it in three pieces. I already found a used mast off of a 74. Now I just need to find the time to work on it.

I can't find any good pics of the boat. I'll take a few when I go up next weekend.

I haven't done anything with the posts yet. We are slowly working on the landscape plan, I'm planning to address that when we build the outdoor kitchen below and next to the deck on the house and do something to finish under the deck on the shop. I'll look for and post up some pics of the boat.

There's a scupper behind the gutter on the one roof. Yes, they are called scuppers on roofs as well.

Two years later and the shop is full of stuff. It's already seen three engine swaps and another one underway on the C5 that blew up during an AER race at Mid Ohio last year.

    Show off your lifts!!!

It was polished and then sealed. Oil spots have come off without staining so far.

I'm just finishing up my shop now. The only think I've lifted so far is a bench to paint window trim but I think I'm going to be very happy with it. Challenger 10k asymmetric. It will get use soon. It's time to get three race cars ready for the upcoming season.

Thanks Jeff. Besides the gym downstairs, which my wife wants done; it will probably be a while before I make any more progress, but at least now it's usable.

I got some time and some help from my brother to knock out the window framing and floor molding on most of the first floor. Now it's functional and it looks nice. Now I just have to finish the electrical / lighting, flooring for the wooden areas, the bathroom and the workshop room. I also...

    Concrete tensile strength

I'm sure if I bug him enough, the architect will come up with an answer. I'm pretty sure I told him to expect 15k of trailer but I'm sure he over built for that. The builder has a similar setup at his house and he parks bobcats and tractors on it. I'm heading up there tomorrow. I'll take a...

    Concrete tensile strength

Yes, my question was poorly worded: I'm really looking at how much weight it will take without cracking. Structurally, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be a problem and my builder agrees. The beams aren't going to deflect much but the slab between the beams will. The question is how much and is it...

I've asked the architect repeatedly. Haven't gotten an answer.

    Concrete tensile strength

I'm looking for some concrete advice. When I designed my shop I wanted 1 full 40' bay to park a car hauler. Due to the slope of the property, we ended up with a basement so the back half of the slab in that bay is suspended by beams and steel trays. I'm not at all worried about putting fully...
