I would... 2' centers in Canada winters are bound to crack your mud. The mud will probably crack anyway but if you put up some backing it won't be as bad.
Check out my thread... that's one coat of Zinser 123 on fresh drywall with a coat of satin latex. I calculated the sqft as 8 gallons of Zinser... I ended up using 12 gallons. I did however only use 8 gallons of latex for the finish coat.
You can also use 2 fans at opposite ends of the garage if you have that layout... one blowing in and one out then go nuts with the leaf blower. I think the volume of the leaf blower helps move the dust out better than an air compressor.
FYI, you should have staggered the seams on the ceiling drywall... check out my ceiling...

Now I know it's too late to redo it and I'm not trying to be a **** but you still have the opportunity to stagger the walls...
Here are some cool garage style pulls that would look good in a shop. Not the "creative" automotive parts but garage style IMO.

My 30x40x10 shop Update
A lot done since my last post... paint, baseboard, door lift installed, lights, outlets replaced etc.
My stuff is in... time to clean and organize. It's getting fun now!
I haven't tried it yet... waiting for mud, tape, texture and paint before I start re-installing my fixtures. I will keep you posted hopefully within the next month.
The fan is a Westinghouse...

I called them to get their installation manual and it didn't have a wiring diagram. It just showed the wires going to the various locations but no instructions on which wire goes where.
Switch has:
M - Grey
A - Red
L - Black
Fan has:
M - Grey
A - Red
N - White
So are you suggesting Grey to Grey, Red to Red, Fan White to power white, switch black to power black?
Does anyone have any clue what MAN and MAL stand for?
Thanks again!
