The base of mine is nothing like the base of the 3rd and 4th. It's a 3 petal clover leaf like the first two. Plus, mine has the bench end cap like the first two. But you make a good point about that half oval cut out. The first two don't have that. Oh well, it's an awesome vise.
Thanks very much for the info. By the way, I used to have a 69 SS 396 Chevelle. :-).
I came across this in my search for a date and based off of the foot/base design, itdefinitely is a closer match to the first two rather than the last two. It’s a bummer if they didn’t stamp a date but I...
Thanks RTM. Definitely similar. Mine has the integrated bar clamp and no little anvil on top so it’s not a dead ringer but very close. Thanks very much for the link.

Here’s my result. I’ll try to polish up that screw end and handle better in time. Right now I just want to rearrange my bench and bolt this puppy down for use! It looks good to my kids so it’s good enough for me. Haha. Thanks to all of you for the info and nice words.
Not to press my luck with everyone’s patience but….. I’ve soaked a few parts in evaporust and there’s some actual color emerging. And, it’s blue. Is this more likely to be the original paint or a possible repaint? Please note the paint in an obscure location on the tip of the bolt shank seen...
Thanks FJ432. Don’t worry, I’m overwhelmed but intrigued by this website. Gonna take me a while to see what all is here. I live in Fort Mill, SC. I got the Vise from a very nice guy who lowered the price for me to $100. It was a 4 hour round trip for me (that’s why he lowered) but we’ll worth...
