    Older speedaire/champion compressor

So this is how you would set it up, with a 9.5" pulley for 1000rpm? What is to gain by running 1000rpm vs 788rpm as it was stock? More cfm output? I'm sure 20 cfm @ 120psi will be fine for the standard air tools i use. Thanks for the help!

    Older speedaire/champion compressor

Gotcha, that makes sense. Surplus center has a 7.75" that fits the motor I plan to use. Looks like that would put me at 810rpm, pretty close to stock. As far as being single stage and 120 psi. Why do I see many other single stage that run to 135. What is the limiting factor? Just curious.

So no problems running the pump closer to max rpm than stock? Other than being a little louder obviously. I snagged it for 200$ so I figured it was a decent deal, based on the cost of the pump new.

    Older speedaire/champion compressor

I just got a older speedaire 3z172. It looks to be the same as a champion s20 pump. I will be running it with a baldor 1phz 5hp 1725rpm and mag starter. What rpm should I shoot for when picking the motor pulley? It shows max of 1000rpm. Should I get as close to that as possible? max psi of...

Drill press: Free standing or bench type?

Those earlier tawian drill presses work good for what the are. I have one labeled union tool co, Seattle wa. sturdy and can be spun at low enough speeds. Gave 100$ in NOS condition. -scott

Upper and lower tool chest combo or 2 lowers?

If you are patient enough you can get a nice USA box on local ads. I was ready to pull the trigger on a 56" hf box. Ended up finding a nice Lyon 54" box on offer up, full 25" deep 380$. None of these import boxes hold a candle to the stoutness of the box I found. Glad I kept searching.

Dranco 4 1/2" cutoff wheels and Vermont American drill/bit set

That seems like a great deal. I normally use Walter zip cuts. I wonder how they compare?

Hairline crack weeks after lift anchor bolts

Being a monopour slab I would suppose causes more tension as well, the 6" slab is tied into 22x22" (roughly) footing. 4 bars in the trench all wired to the rebar slab grid. Probably doesn't let the slab contract as easily as a slab poured inside of a stem wall. Neither of the two crack I have...

Hairline crack weeks after lift anchor bolts

I used 5.5" anchors because the shop I bought the lift from said that is what they use. And anchors are anywhere from 3.5-4" imbedment after seating/torquing. They are over the minimum imbedment depth. I did not saw cut because we had a heating tube surface while floating (broken tie wire)...

Hairline crack weeks after lift anchor bolts

Anchors are 5.5" anchors. They are all at 3.5- 4" imbedment. Minimum imbedment is 3 3/8" for these anchors. I did not drill all the way through. I drilled all the holes to 4.5". Yes, no saw cuts, zip strips or tooled control joints.

Hairline crack weeks after lift anchor bolts

I went 90ftlb because the shop told me that is what they do. They do many of the dealerships in the area. As far as removing the anchors, I have never tried. Is it even possible without destroying the concrete? I plan to go talk to the shop this week and see what they have to say.

Hairline crack weeks after lift anchor bolts

I thought about the epoxied all thread route. The company that I bought from, that installs them said that is not necessary. They are one of the bigger installers in the area. Yeah I verified the mix, used same mix as the other garage on my property, same contractor as well. It was watered for...
