    Yup, it is required to do so anytime you replace a motor or compressor.

    Shorted them using a screwdriver for years and never had a problem.

    New here from the HAMB. Been a Hamber since 2004. Bought a home last year built in 1940. I store and work on my 41 Chevy in there. It's a cinder brick 20x25 Garage with a loft. Looking forward to checking out info and sharing ideas on here. Thanks

    Rookie2's right! And don't forget to short it out after power is off! I do HVAC work and I can tell ya that guy was trying to rip you off! I changed a duel cap today for a customer. It was swollen and it was reading bad on both the fan side and hermetic side of cap. Outdoor unit would not come...
