    Garage cabinets / storage

Part of the answer depends on the depth of cabinet you want, over head or under counter. I use the harbor freight 3 door cabinets (see the FRP thread for a picture) for overhead; they are just the right size to store gallon cans/jugs and smaller, and if you find them on sale, relatively cheap.

    FRP usage on walls

I did you as you are looking to do; the bottom 4 feet all around. I used 5/8 OSB behind it, and used vinyl siding trim to cap around the 5/8 board and the OSB, so that the OSB didn't **** up any water when I wash down the floor. I slid the sheet in with the sides and bottom trip in place...

Question: Metal I-Beam for Trolley hoist in Pole Barn

I want to get rid of my engine hoist; I'd rather have a gantry of some kind permanently in the shop for R&R engines in my cars; I've seen the portable gantry at HF, and want something similar, but permanent. I could run an IBEAM all the way across (shop is 30x32, but I would suspect it would...

    Harbor Freight Floor Tiles

anyone tried the HBF black/grey interlocking floor tiles? They have a coupon that makes the 4pack 6.99, and then coupled with the 10% coupon that still is out there, you can get 20sqft for about 32.50, a little over $1.50 a sqft....

I missed the 20% off one item coupon they had, which ended 1/20, as an act to get email subscribership back up. Found this one though, celebrating 3 new store openings, 10% off your entire purchase... http://www.harborfreightusa.com/html/emails/5/GO/Go_Coupon.jpg

Kobalt 60 Gal oil -lube air comp - $299 @ Lowes

I called corporate to see what stores had this item, they said there was very limited availability for the item, and they would contact my local store about calling me back and arranging to get one shipped to the store, no extra cost. Pete from the Sinking Spring Store, very professionally...

    Internet in garage?

My pole barn, with aluminum foil insulation, metal roof & ceiling, metal walls, is about 100' from the house, and the signal was real weak. I got one of the Hawking USB antenna network adapters you can get at Best Buy, hung it from the ceiling and it raised the signal strength from <5 to ~24...

    Sears $5 coupon

Is the profanity really necessary (above edited)? I went to the Wyomissing store today, #1484 in the White Hall district. District Manager is Jim McNat, and I spoke with Manager Renee Delgato. She indicated the police were not involved with any situation as described by partsman (what else...

How does everyone store small hardware?

I use the metal and plastic parts containers that many have mentioned; but then I go one step further. I get the old deli/meat/bakery tray rollers from supermarkets when they close and have auctions. The one they use for meat trays works well for the plastic trays, and the one for bakery trays...

    Pole Barn Post Covering Options?

The posts will still protrude from the wall by about 2" after doing the insulation/OSB/tile board. I really don't want to cover up the posts, but I guess I will have to consider it. My overall theme of the shop is smooth/smooth. Smooth floor, no decoflakes, stainless steel workcounters...

    Pole Barn Post Covering Options?

I wondered what other pole barn owners did with their posts; I've had people suggest staining them, and my mindset was to use vinyl post coverings cut lenghtwise to cover them. However, my poles are 5.5" and I can only find 4" vinyl post coverings. Any suggestions, sources of material, or...

    Wolverine Coatings on my garage

I just talked to Bill at Wolverine about my floor prep I am wrapping up. I have cracks, not expansion joints, and this is my plan based on that conversation: 1. Grind out the cracks to form a "V" ----Water only, no surfacents (sp?) 3. Acid wash can be done, but not necessary; ----Grinding...

SpitfireRacer's New Home: Remodel of 30x32 pole barn

Ok, back to the workshop tasks. Funny how when the plumbing in the house blows up, your priorities change.:wtf: I finished updating the lighting, doubling the number CFL, and 4 of them were the new 110W CFLs; the shop is much brighter than I expected when all lights are on...I have them wired...
