This GFCI circuit is the only one in the house which is the outlets in the 2 bathrooms.
I don't know if the GFCI breaker is bad but don't have any way to test it. I'd rather replace it.
The breakers are all GE.
This is how I wired it up. It's working. Let me know if it needs improvement.
thanks.
The house was built in 1979.
Found that the bathrooms outlets were dead. GFIC Circuit breaker was tripped. Reset circuit breaker, hit the test button and it tripped the circuit breaker.
I guess that is good?
My only other option is to replace the GFIC circuit breaker.
The wiring from the old...
According to the Royal specs for welding thick cast iron you should use a "U" bevel @ 60° . This is my first experience with welding cast iron.
I used a make shift solar oven to preheat. The temp maxed out at 250F in 30 minutes.
And added a bung for the EGT probe.
I needed an adapter to go from a T30 flange on the 4BT exhaust manifold to a T25 flange to mount a HE221W turbocharger in place of the HX30W.
Bought a block of Ductile Cast Iron to make the weld on adapter and a small spool of Royal 44-30 wire.
I needed a jig to hold the transfer case up off the table for reassembly. The factory would have you disassemble the input side so that it sets flat on the table. Or cut a hole in the table for the input to set in.
This is a quick fix, one time use jig.
And there was no warpage, to speak of.
I guess we "could" take a cue from the UK and insulate half of the plugs as in the photo.
That ain't going to happen, those must cost a small fortune to manufacture, solid pins and all regardless of the voltage.
Interesting, In SE AZ where I just moved to, most of the outlets are installed "upside down". And it's not code forcing the outlets to be installed that way.
Learn something new every day.
Thanks.
I was measuring the length of the EMT for wire length as I had several mostly used spools, didn't want to run out durning the pull.
Didn't see that the shop vac was plugged in. Didn't see that the plug was ever so slightly pulled out from socket.
Pulled the tape measure over the top of the elect...
I'm wiring a 30A RV elect panel, rain proof that also has a 20A duplex. Is it code to use the same gnd wire for both the 30A and the 20A?
Using 10 awg for the 30a and 12 awg for the 20a. Wire it in 1/2 EMT.
thanks,
Steve
