KNIPEX 8" combination pliers $5.19 ! at LOWES

On the web page linked to, look to the right side at "related items". Though the OP's 8" pliers were $19.99 at my store, the related items showed 10" alligator pliers for $6.23. I guess Lowes is a YMMV store.

    A new place to shop

Got an email this morn. I didn't really have much time to look through the site and see if it's a improvement on Amazon proper or whatever. Front page kinda reminds me of Mcmaster-Carr. http://www.amazonsupply.com/

    School me on air-hose

Rubber. Stay away from that nylon or plastic junk. I go for made in the USA Goodyear brand. I get 50 footers for 20 to 40 bucks, depending on sales. http://www.amazon.com/GOODYEAR-46505-8-Inch-50-Feet-Restrictors/dp/B0030EU5Y4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1332657116&sr=8-2 Look for oil resistance...

    new pocket knife time

I like the Buck 112 Ranger. Smaller and lighter than the 110 but still has the same great Buck heft.

Best tire inflator out there ?

All gages will become inaccurate if thrown around, whether integrated or not. With a Milton you can rebuild the gage with a kit. Try that with a digital or stick gage. http://www.amazon.com/Milton-507-Replacement-Gauge-Cartridge/dp/tech-data/B001O31MOA

Best tire inflator out there ?

Mine has the deflation port. And so do all the other Miltons I have seen. Must be a Blue Point thing. Edit.... I see some of the lower priced Milton gages don't have the port. I gave the wrong link. Here's the one I actually have...

Best tire inflator out there ?

I use Milton inflators and gauges in an industrial setting. Made in the U.S.A. and never have a problem with them. Here's the one I use. http://www.amazon.com/Milton-Dual-Chuck-Inflator-Gauge/dp/B000BMIQ4O

what US tool companies make low quality?

With today's competitive pressures I'm surprised that the quality of most everything made in the U.S. is still fairly high. U.S. companies are hit from all sides these days, from overseas countries without environmental and labor standards, one sided "free trade" agreements, tax issues, you name...

Stanley & Walmart is attacking Channellock

I noticed a few days ago that there were some US made tools in Walmart that were priced cheaper than their Chinese competitor. I don't recall the brands. Whether that means the advantage of outsourcing tool production is fading or it's just Walmart's price pressuring, I don't know.

What did you purchase with your tax refund?

You ever notice that the people that get huge tax refunds are generally deadbeats with way too many kids and live throughout the year with all kinds of discounts and free bees? Like section 8 and foodstamps. And what exactly is a "earned income credit" and why do people that don't work get it?

    Knipex Cobra

Ahh I see them now. Thanks for the answer. And I did wonder what the meaning was for the pivoting upper jaw I see in NWS pics.

    Knipex Cobra

To ricleh, I don't see the NWS version of pliers wrench in your drawer, but if you have them, how are they? Compared to Knipix, that is. I have been wanting to get the Knipix pliers wrench but there never seems to be a decent sale on them. In fact the price keeps creeping up.

Craftsman Impact Driver everyone raves about.

Just join the Craftsman club. You'll get some o.k. deals every month. http://www.craftsman.com/ As far as those impact drivers go, I have found they are all pretty much the same except for the bits. Try Napa. They have one that is equal to Craftsman. It sells for $10 less than the Craftsman...

Whats the tool situation in the Germany?

Yes it was a good read. Reminded me of my time in Germany in the late 70's. I mostly had nothing but good times there. The women there were extremely hot! The only real problem I encountered while there, was the way restuarants would charge extra for ketchup on your pommes frites! Barbaren!
