US General Service Cart vs 5 drawer mechanics cart.

I have the five drawer cart in my home garage in orange. Never really saw a need to change any detailing on it. I think it looks fine the way it came out of the box.

Air connections. Pipe dope or Teflon tape?

Tape, no mess. Easy to carry in the tool box or on the tool belt.

I don't even like auto ranging.

    Do I Need Impact Sockets?

I use my impact driver all the time with sockets. I do not use impact sockets 99% of the time. I also have an air impact and an air ratchet. I use them rarely, the air line is a hassle. Should you use air, make sure you use a hose reel. I should have hung mine from the ceiling. That may...

What do you use Vise Grips For

Pinching off a gas line while you change an inline filter on a mower. Or add a filter... Done the same for small airline when working on a machine and we preferred not to shut the air off. Rounded fastener removal.

Pittsburgh vs. Icon Allen & Torx Sockets - Worth the difference?

My "localist" hardware carries Channel-lock brand. All of it I have bought is pretty good stuff. Pretty handy that they sell individual sockets and wrenches.

Is this really the best Craftsman ratchet?

I had a couple of sets that had round head ratchets. Those might have worked ok, but I so fondly remember needing to pry sockets off with a screw driver. Those are the biggest reason I MUCH prefer QR today. I do have the style in the OP in 1/2". It is my go to when I need heavy duty. It has...

Pittsburgh vs. Icon Allen & Torx Sockets - Worth the difference?

I got another 3/8 Pittsburgh set on sale for about $4.99. (Metric) Used them at work today. Taiwan made, never had a problem. It's all I have at home.

    Quick release ratchets?

I want to thank everyone for their input. I heard pretty much what I thought I would. I have both styles. I have come to prefer the QR. I won't be trashing any of mine, but I think going forward QR will be my preference. I just bought a new Milwaukee 3/8 set with the flat sided sockets. I...

    Quick release ratchets?

I see a lot of negative comments about these. I was working on my brakes last week. My hands are covering in greasy grimy gopher guts and I need to change my socket. The ratchet I'm using is not quick release and I have a heck of a time getting the socket changed. With my quick release I...

New Start!: Recommendation for Socket / Ratchet / Wrench Brand - Please

If I was starting over, local availability would move to the top of my list. For one warranty is easier. And you can buy as you go. More than a couple of times I have needed some size that didn't come in one of my sets. Normally that means a larger size. I could run down to the local...

HF US General Boxes, Are They Worth It?

I just bought the five drawer roll around cart for my home garage. It's nice cart, I would but it again. Nicer casters than I expected.

    Are Harbor Freight coupons done?

I used one off my HF coupon App this weekend for the 5 drawer roll around cart. I'm still getting new coupons every month on it. It also shows the "monthly flier." I downloaded one for HF tools, but it is not as good as the coupon app.
