    Home Depot Clearance Thread 2014

These were only marked down to $75 at my HD. Guess I didn't really need it then!

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Cleaned it. Got rid of a ton(well 1/4 ton) of scrap junk wood that was in the garage when I bought the house. Before: After:

    My old 24x23 Garage Rebuild

Thanks for the tip! Your way looks better, I couldn't get the Novitrim to have as clean of an edge as you have. It doesn't look bad, but it isn't perfect. I have a small section to do on the other side of the garage, I will use the trim again since I already used it on the other side.

    My old 24x23 Garage Rebuild

Long time no update. Finally got an electrician to come out and bid on putting electricity to the garage. The house has an old 65a line so he ran a new line from the pole to the garage, put in a 200a panel in the garage, trenched a line to the house and ran a 100a line, there is a feed through...

    what would this be worth.......

Sounds awful fishy to me too. I work for a steel foundry, so any scrap metal gets remelted or reused somehow, but they control everything else that goes out of the plant very tightly. I do get access to used pallets and wooden boxes we get from raw material shipments though.

Attaching steel fence post to concrete

Thats a good idea, I didn't think to cut out a small section of the wall. I will have to find out how deep the wall goes into the ground and look into renting a concrete saw. This seems like the most stable, long term option.

Attaching steel fence post to concrete

Sorry, I assume it was a footer at one time for a shed, but it very well could have just been poured to retain dirt from falling onto the slab where the current shed is(all of this was in place far before I even bought this house). I do not know how far down the "footer" goes into the ground, I...

Attaching steel fence post to concrete

That seems far easier to accomplish. Could add in an L bracket on the interior of the footer for additional support. Updated mspaint artistic rendoring I don't know if I can demo the footer with the grade of the landscape on the other side of the yard the way it is. If I did, the dirt on my...

Attaching steel fence post to concrete

I am in the middle of installing a 6ft privacy fence around my yard and have come across a dilemma. I am using 2-3/8 steel posts and around the back side there is a concrete pad with a ~16-20 ft. long ~18" tall footer. The old posts just use a home made "L" bracket, but I don't foresee this...

    My old 24x23 Garage Rebuild

Sooo I still have not finished this ... Between work, school, and a slew of other projects(new half bath, replacing 300ft old chain link with privacy fence, retaining wall built on the alley side of the garage), I have not had much time for the garage. Here is where I ended today(except I...

Auction: Air compressor and drill press

Cool, I would like to be able to use the drill press for both metal and wood, so that is good to know.

Auction: Air compressor and drill press

I am thinking about going to a local auction to check out a 40 gallon air compressor and an older drill press and was wondering what they were worth and if they were worth the time. Sanborn 40gal Commercial. I have not been able to find any information on this model. Mostly have come up with...

    My old 24x23 Garage Rebuild

Slow progress still with work and all the rain we have had, but managed to get one side mostly done. Going to try to tackle the rear this weekend. The inside is a little more organized, I have regained about the front 1/3rd of the garage for working lol. Need to make my way to the back and...

    My old 24x23 Garage Rebuild

The panels on the left side are a faux stone veneer made by Novistone. I think I will like it, I just don't really like the way it looks against the footer, makes it look even more fake. The wife though it would look cool on the house(which it probably will), so we got some for the garage too...

    My old 24x23 Garage Rebuild

Welp, this may be the last progress for a few weeks. It just started snowing this morning and if we get a ton of snow, I may just call it quits for a few weeks. How should the house wrap hold up in the snow/winter? I don't expect we will get anymore snow after today, but you never know. I...
