Since the Thor has been OOS everywhere too, thought I'd mention that there is 1 available here for $163. I've never ordered from them, so do your own checking of that site.
Have you considered maybe going with a used 60 gal compressor, or do you need the portability of the 30 gal? Some of the other things you are wanting to use will **** a 30 gal empty quick. By using a 60 gal, you won't be limiting yourself the volume/psi needed in some tools, or maybe use the...
I really don't need this much power, but I sure as hell WANT it.
It was great that you teamed up with Eric O, and seeing the results from Torque Test Channel of this impact won me over... It's a BEAST!!!
My 60 gal compressor is going to need upgrading now lol
It was the prototype for Thor. He had it for ~ a year or so. I'm sure there was subtle changes since the prototype from their engineers, and from Eric and other testers input for that impact, but I doubt it was much.
TTC said they will get Thor and test it when it's available. It will probably...
Resist the urge to save a few bucks by using 1/2" sockets and an adapter.
I've heard of those adapters breaking and flying across the room. It's not worth getting hurt or breaking something from flying shrapnel. Just buy 3/4" sockets if you really need the extra torque from a 3/4" impact.
He did say in one of his videos that he puts the IR 231 (that he bases everything off of) back on the test rig every so often to make sure it stays at the same result as the 1st time he tested it. It has always been within 2 ft lbs ( or lb ft, whichever you prefer :) ) each time he tests it.
Is HF coming out with a new impact wrench to replace the Earthquake XT?
Looking at the HF site https://www.harborfreight.com/12-in-composite-xtreme-torque-air-impact-wrench-62891.html it shows it as clearance? Although it's not at a clearance price. It was on sale for $100 around a month ago...
LOL! Now that you mention that, I did it the other way for way longer than I want to admit before I realized I was doing it wrong. Finally hit that :Homer: DOH moment and switched
