Should I put windows in a 24x60x16 garage?

I have 22- 2 x 2 Anderson 100 series around the building with a 4 x 6 picture unit in the office. They are set at 72" and away (up) and provide decent light.

    Fein tool question

I'm sure this has been discussed, but darned if I can find it. The Starlock tool is relatively cheap, but the blades are stupid money. The old style tool is stupid money, but blades cheap. 1- is there a place to buy old style tool "new" that's reasonable? 2- Is there a place to buy...

What tools do I need to build a dresser?

Having been in the biz for a long time, I might be a little jaded because I have around a small fortune in machinery to build stuff. You sound like you want to do it right, so like others have said, start small and work your way into bigger stuff. Buy quality tools, and read some quality...

    Framers in Da House

A hammer is an extension of your arm, hell, it's an extension of your being. Bostitch ain't got a replacement... I'm a little guy, but swung a 24 oz. framer for a while. Went down to a 22 Hart smooth face, and then to a 20 oz. Have to admit, I don't get to play with heavy or sharp objects any...

    Framers in Da House

If you swing a hammer all day, a Douglas is a Corvette compared to a Vaughn or Estwing. Well worth it. i personally swing a Hart framer, but that's what I happen to like.

    Well finally pulled the trigger

"Don't let the business of running your business get in the way of running your business." In other words, do what you're good at, and put people in place to take care of the things you aren't good at. The best thing I did was get really good office help and an excellent accountant. That...

help, my oil burner is not working.

Beckett pumps have an internal seal that will fail and keep the pump from making pressure if you run the pump with the tank valve closed. Pull the nozzle line off, turn it into a pan and turn the burner on, check for pressured flow.

    Framing Materials

Interesting thread. I use 90% engineered lumber all the way through my builds. From timberstrand stud material to LVL header, rafter, and joists, to TJI joists where necessary. We avoid farm raised lumber as much as possible, it shrinks and moves unacceptable amounts.

Romex- 12-2 as two power source, separate neutral?

Isn't it controlled in the switching? I take that back. Can you show the schematic for it?

    Utility Knife

if it doesn't take a regular blade, that seems to be a waste of money.
