    Hidden Switch Ideas?

How about a rotary switch disguised as a cabinet knob?

Do you have a 3D Printer for your shop?

i have used mine to print sharpening jigs, parts for my tablesaw's blade guard/dust collection, custom jigs for the bandsaw...easily saved the cost of the printer replicating a lot of things I see online for ridiculous sums of money. If you can use SketchUp, you can 3d print....you don't have...

    Moving toolboxes

I did similar, but lacking a winch, used alternating ratchet tie down straps to creep it up the ramp a few inches at a time. Slow, but worked.

    Wrenching in Muskoka

Awesome move. I'm in Burlington, Ontario and just had the "get the hell out of the city" conversation with my wife last night...I imagine you did pretty well on the relative real estate values too. Good timing.

    Monday-morning-quarterback my design work?

Only thing I`d add is if you ever get a brake line leak in the camper, say goodbye to the paint on the Benz....;) Mores seriously, you must have some pretty cool neighbors. I could see certain types chirping about it...but then again, I live in a town where you have to get a permit to build...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Woke up Sunday morning at 3 am, couldn't sleep. Went out to the garage and organized everything, put away, sorted, dumped....finally found the top of my workbench for the first time in a year. Then I went to my basement woodshop and did the same thing. Sometimes, insomnia can be productive....

    The Ryobi Tool Appreciation/Review Permathread!

Does anyone own the stick vac from Ryobi? Would like to know opinions/ratings on performance. I've been waiting for it here in Canada...tried a Dyson, what an overpriced piece of **** that was...just want something for quick cleanup on our hardwood, not shop use. I already have a bunch of...

    Wood floor installation advice

When I did mine, I laid tar paper over the subfloor, helps quiet any sqeaks and noise that may pop up with seasonal movement. You could double up the layers on the low spots to match the older wood. It's going to be hell to cut individual strips straight across to blend into those cut areas...

$10k inflatable paint booth vs. fleaBay China best?

Seen a few posts about people that rent those small moving containers from Home Depot or similar...line the walls and floor with plastic, box fans to vent...if you have the room and don't want to store it if used only occasionally, might fit the bill.

How do you organize your garage To-Do list?

By height...biggest pile gets first look.

    Moving husky 66" box

I moved my RF-31 mill in a uhaul all by myself, with a ramp for unloading...I used tow ratchet straps to slowly lower it down the ramp....loosened them alternately a little at a time. You could do the same in reverse around the box, tightening each one alternately to creep it up the ramp. If...

    fitting repair ideas

If it's a temporary thing, some sort of epoxy or jbweld would work. There are sealant tapes too that seem reasonably sound until you can do a proper replacement. I would try taping it, and if you're really worried, give it a coat of epoxy resin. Will look like hell, but should hold til spring.

Motorcycle Wheel Chock - First fabrication attempt

even just weld a "bump", some flat or round bar across the wheel track to keep it from rolling back...dont need the pivot.
