    10K Electric Heater?

After 3 weeks of trying to buy a heater through airbooster.com I gave up and got my money back, couldn't ever get the guy to answer an email, phone call or even respond to PayPal...PayPal gave me my cash back. Problem is now I am shopping for another heater, gonna need at least a 10K, and like...

    Another electric heater (King)

Thanks Cherokee, we're probably not that far apart from each other as I'm in North Central Missouri - we had the snow too but I still don't have the heater yet - finally got ahold of the supplier and he said he was having phone issues, filed a complaint with PayPal and got a reply within a...

    Finally getting something done

Thanks Warrior, no racing for this old geezer, restricted to taking pics of others having fun but then we have fun doing that. We've put about 150K on our Work/Play and love it, wrenching is limited to Truck, Trailer and the Golf Cart (which needs some work now) but as soon as the heater gets...

    Finally getting something done

It's been a long time coming but finally doing something about having to look outside at my shop knowing it is just as cold inside as it is outside. Had to repair a purlin, roof leak from someone missing the purlin with a nail, just happened to be directly over the 200 amp service panel...

    pole barn vs garage

I think the biggest thing you might be missing is the footing, which you might not need in Texas if they allow you to build on a slab. Pole barns allow you to go taller with a lot less hassle, it all depends on what you are going to put into it - if you have a trailer (5th wheel or whatever)...

    Separation wall

Tks boiler7904 - I haven't found any place nearby that deals in the metal studs yet without "special ordering" them and I would just guess that would drive the cost out of the picture. I understand about finding the true straight lumber, I've even considered using manufactured product like they...

    Separation wall

Guess I didn't mention that but yes I want a man door on the far west end of the wall and I am thinking a double door on the east end of the wall. The double door would be large enough for me to get my garden tractor/golf cart/lawnmower through and would give me two man doors and not have to...

    Separation wall

I think you have to sister/overlap the steel studs, not sure about that either. As I recall you have to overlap them. Yep, as it works out the wall falls just in front of the truss or below it depending on how I wanted to attach it/ornot. It wouldn't be a bearing wall so I think I could...

So my new shop is sinking!

Gotta see the pics on this one!!

    Separation wall

I'm probably not using the right term "king stud" but my thought process was I don't want this thing bowing in the wind that will come through when I've got barn doors open, they might not with 2x6's but if I used 2x4's I think it would be a must. Ya-eventually the shop end will be insulated...

    Another Missouri Newbie

Found this site a little while ago and made the "Separation wall" post- hoping to get some ideas about my shop ideas. Here's a couple pics of what I store in it and want to make it a little more climate controlled. There are some truely awesome shops and ideas in here!

    Separation wall

I own a 40'wx60'Lx14'h Morton Building, the doors are sliding doors (barn style) with two that meet in the center of one wall (east wall) making them 24'wx14'h and the barn door on the north is 12'wx14'h. 24' of the north end of the building has a concrete pad and the southern 2/3 (approx.) is...
