Difficulties to read oil level on new (clean) oil...

Color the dipstick with a marker- black works well, at least for me.

    Show your new tool arrivals

Maybe a bad diode in the alternator? Can you run it without the belt?

What kind of tools have you found in the road??

captain14, maybe they should change the name to DuraLost. Years ago I found a Snap-on 5/16 combination wrench on the road. It was bent a little, but worked fine. Only good thing I ever found.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Yes, a very bad design. Needs some more head bolts, but the intake port is in the way. I've replaced many of those gaskets at work- probably at least three dozen in my time there. I can get them done in 1 1/2 hours, including a valve job. You'd think Briggs would at least come up with a better...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Finished detailing my 2020 Malibu Premier that I got 1 1/2 weeks ago. Had to buff the paint with finishing compound to remove the dealer installed swirl marks . Topped with Ceramic Spray Coating from Adam's Polishes. This was my first time using that product and I'm very impressed! Went on...

Yet another "What is it" thread.

That looks like a flywheel puller and it's still on a flywheel. Might be from a motorcycle engine.

Why no love for ECHO chainsaws?

I tried to send a PM about who the dealer was, but I couldn't get my message to go through. Maybe post the first letter of each word in the name of the company. I might be familiar with that particular dealer.

Mower help - self prop/drive belt issue

Since it seems like you have the proper belt, I would check the pulley alignment and make sure all of the belt keepers/ guides are in place.

    What is this for?

That is a spring compressor for the wires connected to the condenser on a Briggs & Stratton engine. I have one in my tool box at work. Doesn't get used much any more since the change to electronic ignition.

    snap ring pliers....

I bought a set of Imperial snap ring pliers from McMaster-Carr around five years ago to use at work. They have never let me down.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Changed the oil and filter in my car, and since snow is heading this way, I made sure my snowblower started. Hasn't been run since last winter and it started on the first pull.

    Van shelves as workshop storage

I have some for storage in my garage. Around thirty years ago the place I was working had a service van that was going to be junked. I ended up with the shelves for free.

10mm Wide Nut with 1/4-20 Thread

Years ago I bought a cheap bolt assortment and the 1/4-20 x 1" bolts have a 10mm head on them :headscrat. Do you want some oddball bolts to go with your hybrid nuts? :)
