    Has anyone EVER used a 16mm or 18mm wrench/socket?

😂 Fair point yet my purchase wasn’t based on needing a vehicle. I’ve already run into several surprises 😂

    Has anyone EVER used a 16mm or 18mm wrench/socket?

Intentionally purchased a Land Rover to learn the platform and to use my tools more given they are maintenance hogs. First repair used both 16mm and 18mm. I was actually confused at first because haven’t used those before given my daily is a Toyota truck 😂

    Jack Stands

While also like the locking pin, that pin isn’t going to prevent failure from poor quality materials/manufacturing or more importantly incorrect use. I would still have redundancy elsewhere, such as tire, blocks, another stand, etc. Suspect many using jack stands with that feature have a false...

Looking for recommendations on new set of jack stands recommendations. Leaning towards these Napa 7 ton jack stands given wide base, height, wide rest pad, and two year warranty. Appreciate any feedback if anyone has owned or used them. Use case is a Land Rover project. Not interested in...

Ok lets go apples for apples. Here’s a CDI made in USA for $33 more: https://www.suncoasttools.com/crm/ItemPage.aspx?ItemNumber=JH802MFRFMHS++++++JH&VendorNumber=WILLIAMS&Code=GOOGLEFEED&srsltid=AfmBOoqJwYWJu4Q4IP1TLZOtmFdrNOLbfo9BzynbL7eTsIavkE25B8af OP - sounds like you’re back on track...

Icon Torque Wrench Problem, or not?

Buy with Confidence. Combining tool truck quality, unbeatable value, and a lifetime warranty…. Joking aside, I’d take it back and swapped out for something you’re comfortable with. They should take care of it without issue.

Icon G2 Ratchets vs Snap On

Enough with these threads GJ. It’s time to declare the real deal, best ratchet ever made: Gator Grip!!!!! Cheaper than ICON and made in USA so take a seat Snap on! If you’re a pro, you just know….

    Brake Caliper Hanging Hooks

Lisle hooks are thick and still made in USA. Think I paid $6-8 from JB Tools when needing to get over the free shipping threshold. Suspect sold on Amazon as well.

    Icon Sockets: Yes or No?

Thin wall sockets are commonly used for lug nuts which have higher torque values than mainly bolts the user will touch in a routine repair. I simply contend: it’s a socket, use the right one and the bolt comes off regardless of brand.

Icon G2 Ratchets vs Snap On

This has become tiresome, and the constant circular debates are just sad. Wonder how many people waste hours watching Youtube videos when they could have just bought a Walmart made in china special and just did the work. OP - buy what you like. If it’s the Icon, then swap everything out. Let’s...

    Icon Sockets: Yes or No?

I question whether ICON is better than the Pittsburg option for DIY.. Recognize that view may ruffle some feathers. While my preference is Williams USA, I have used Craftsman, Pittsburg, Easco, ICON and no name brands over the years. At the end of the day, they all work when used properly...

Extra long metric wrench set at O'Reilly's

I have both the metric and SAE version although paid ~$20 per set couple years ago. They are decent quality and don’t break the bank. Eastwood set posted is a better value for the sizes included but have no experience with their tools.
