Follow up... So maybe I should be using the quill tensioner to ride against the quill when drilling instead of just running it completely free. It does seem to take the movement out without compromising vertical movement when adjusted :rolleyes: Not the first time I've had egg on my face...😅...

My drill press is a 103.23140, it has about .007 lateral movement at the chuck when down about 2 in, but the quill itself has about .005 movement in the housing. I don't see any provision for bushings in the housing on the parts list, does the quill ride in bare bores in the cast iron? There is...
