What did I find in my driveway?

Wow, lots of comments on here I missed! This round definitely was NOT fired in a shotgun although it is a shotgun round. With how the case split open I'm sure it was initiated some other way and it took flight in a completely random direction. I took some more pictures, bagged up everything...

What did I find in my driveway?

I would be impressed if they set off something like that... I'm sure that would be the last time I hear fireworks!

What did I find in my driveway?

Flechette round is what iwas thinking too... no native headhunters in Noth Jersey! Is the washer really used as wadding? Also, the tail end of the flechette was stuck to the inside of the plastic, right behind the triangle with the 1 in it. Guess that means it was in backwards?

What did I find in my driveway?

The pellets didn't react when heated, but it rained pretty hard over night.

What did I find in my driveway?

Found this in my driveway after what sounded like the neighbors setting off fireworks last night. The sound definitely didn't come from my driveway, but just over 100ft away. It looks like something else that goes bang. Just wondering if anyone has experience with something like this.

    Leaking water neutralizer drain

Thanks for the info. I wound up taking the cheap way out, trimmed down the fitting so the whole thing fits in the main and secured it a bit better. Unfortunately water was pooling up on the board behind one of the windows (I guess it was mist or splash from inside), so I I made a foil funnel...

    Leaking water neutralizer drain

So my water neutralizer drain has this funny plastic fitting on it before it dumps into the main, along with the washing machine drain. There's a window in the fitting that I guess is there to watch the water coming out during the regen cycle. Somewhere this fitting started leaking and water...

Liftmaster 8500 (or Genie 6172) spacing?

Well after all that concern, second guessing, and measuring... they fit just fine. The manual calls for 8.5" of clearance to fit the opener and coupling on the shaft, but you need to realize the coupler slips over the shaft at least 1.5"... and as stated above, the jack shaft slips inside the...

Liftmaster 8500 (or Genie 6172) spacing?

Genie B6172H I found this opener as an option also. It is a bit narrower at 7" but I'm assuming that doesn't include the distance needed to slip the coupler over the end of the jackshaft. I asked a question on amazon and the stated it only need 14" of clearance, however that doesn't seem...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Here are the after pics of my Chase Parker jaws. It will take a ton of filing to make them look new, correct?

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Brush, that picture was taken before I worked on them. I don't have an after picture.

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Yes, I used a wire brush on the jaws and they look a little better, but still worn in a few spots.

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Here's a Chase Parker I found for $70. I dunked it in simple green then some parts in evaporust, lubed it with some 'red and tacky', used Johnson's paste wax on the bare metal, and painted it a rustoleum blue. Definitely not the thorough rebuild some of you do here, but it felt good getting...

    Motive Products Bleeder Questions

Ha, try it on the old school master cylinders with rectangle caps, the kind the need a few chains to secure the adapter! Since that mess happened I only use the motive bleeder dry, (over?)fill the master, and check the level often.

Husky 30 gallon quiet vs. Kobalt Quiet Tech 26 gallon

I bought the quiet tech during the black Friday sale, $250 how bad could it be? I shot these 2 quick videos, does anyone else's braided hose expand and contract like this?
